From Wikipedia:Lobeline: ...and acts as a mixed agonist-antagonist at nicotinic acetylcholine receptors

Mixed agonist-antagonist means partial agonist. Partial agonists bind to a receptor while stimulating it weakly. If a true agonist (natural neurotransmitter, agonist drug) tries to bind to that receptor it is prevented from doing so. Thus (theoretically) it would partially fulfill the craving of the blocked drug, while preventing that drug from having any effect.

---

This is a brilliant tricksy move by Ruyan, to circumvent the coming FDA vapeocalypse. I'd bet my bottom dollar that there are established studies about the safety and effectiveness of Lobeline.

They can make money selling their vaporizers (and replacement attys) and the FDA won't be able to touch them. While the rest of us smuggle nic juice through the mail. ;)

 This is good news indeed! The 2nd best thing that can happen at this point is companies such as Ruyan putting the atomizer technology to good use as something entirely different than an alternative to cigs. Hmmm defidently has potential for herbal remedies and even someday as a drug delivery device. After a ban maybe we could "missuse" their device for, um, forbidden things? :p

Brilliant, or desperate? I just hope it doesn't taste like a can of smashed chicken ....

I didn't say I'd actually buy one, or smoke the dang puke weed ;).

I am a refugee from the war on drugs, and a frequent customer of head shops. I'm used to the whole dog and pony show about drug paraphernalia. I pretend I'm not using the device for drugs and they pretend to not know that I'm using the device for drugs.

I've kinda felt the FDA hammer coming for a while and it seems to me the contingency plan is to pretend that the vaporizers are used for herbs, or breath freshener, or anything but nicotine. Then Ruyan (et al) pretends it's not for nicotine, we pretend we're not using it for nicotine, and then we go home and mix the nic into our 'breath freshers' and vape it.

Well, go into just about any store at a major campus.. and guess what... glass pipes are legal to be sold.

I can't see why vaporizers are not legal to be sold, now or in the future, it is all about packaging (includings nicotine carts) and marketing (calling them cigarettes is just dumb).
There should have always been two companies, a hardware and a product line. I think it is irresponsible to keep packaging them and the RAPP sounds like more of the same but changing the liquid.

Anyways, why I read the PR it sounds a lot like a sealed disposable unit. Wonder if it is like an pressurize inhaler.

IMHO, if it doesn't vape, then most of their potential market won't want it. Just go get a prescription for a Nicotrol inhaler, n'est pas?

Oddly, Nicotrol Inhalers are the one NRT that most helped me quit in the past. (In fact perhaps the only one to do so.) Problem is, they're outrageously expensive and they expect you to stop at some point. WTF???

They will not be able to ban our hardware beyond the kits that come with carts loaded with nicotine. Technically, no one piece to an ecig is a drug delivery device , it's all the pieces together WITH nicotine.

You have a battery, batteries are legal.
You have the atty, just a piece of wire that heats up, like some space heaters.
You have the cart, a piece of plastic, nothing more.

And as long as there is non nicotine material to vape, the hardware is technically legal.

Just the same as I can go to the store and buy a bowl cause that's how I like to smoke tobaco.

Now if someone could produce some ejuice with this puke weed in it, Hmm....

As publisher of a 'holistic' magazine I always have my SD with me when I stop in to visit local shops/writers/advertisers.
The owner of a natural food and supplement store was very interested when I first explained my DSE901. She spoke of carrying something similar - if it could be utilized to vape herbal 'concoctions' (fine line in labels that are legal)

There would be and is a market for an herbal vaporizer.
