Hello all,

I’m new to TC and have some questions I can’t seem to find answers through my hours of scouring the forums and google.

My gear:

Wismec Reuleax - firmware v3.00
Tsunami rda
Dual SS 316L coils - 1.7ohms
Dual SS 316L coils - .17ohms

I have manually set my TCR for M1 at 0092 per charts provided in these forums.

Here is the odd part or maybe I’m just getting confused with all the menu selections.

When I click the fire button 3 times I’m given the different menu selections for wattage, NI, TI, SS, M1, M2, M3.

Now, since I manually set M1 to 0092, logic tells me I should choose M1 from the menu above. Problem is, while in M1, no matter what combination of watts / temperature I choose, i’m immediately getting “TempProtection” on the LCD and zero vapor.

However, if I select SS from the menu, everything works as expected. Meaning temp control works, I get vapor and the mod adjusts/limits properly.

Surely, I’mm missing something but can’t seem to find what it is.

You might check to see if the resistance is locked when you are in SS316L mode. If it is, try unlocking it, remove atty, press fire button and with a room temp atty reinstalled and mod set to M1, see if it'll ask if it is a new atty. If it asks, 'answer' yes. After all that the resistance can be relocked if wanted.

From my experience with the RX200, manual TCR for SS never worked correctly.
I believe they are using a much higher TCR for their SS mode or their resistance sensing is different. Without live resistance like the VTC mini, it is hard to isolate the problem or issue.

I have had the same problem as you. I have tried 92 (316L), 104 (304), and 138 (430). The only thing that comes close to the default SS setting is TCR 138 for SS430

Also because of the low TCR rating of 316L, I would suggest a higher coil resistance for greater temperature accuracy

Based on the math posted in the TCR threads, a 0.005ohm change in resistance due to heat using your 0.17ohm coil yields 32C using TCR 92.

There is a chart posted around here that shows SS wire should be around 0.5ohm or best accuracy.
Using the same math as above, a 0.005ohm change in resistance due to heat using your 0.5ohm coil yields 11C using TCR 92.

So funny if you look a few posts up I posted the same thing a couple days ago. My rx works way better in default ss setting then with custom tcr. Iv tried everything from 85 - 120 and nothing works as good as the default setting does. Might have to do with duel coil vs single coil. Maybe these tcr values only work well with certain builds at a certain wire mass. Because when I use just the tcr on my Dna200 it does the same things but when I use custom curves from the steam engine for duel coils it works great. So I'm just gonna keep it simple and stick to the default setting since it works so good and I'd recommend you do the same.
