my rx200 ... while i dont use it much... but when i did the other day it got mighty warm!!!

i realize all the talk about its design being so compact and it being made of metal and how its a heatsink for the tank/dripper... but really? i am thinking maybe the way its circuitry is all about causing it to heat up.

my ipv3li at 50 watts is normal temperature. doesnt get hot at all. well, not at all but at the rate of up to 80watts its very normal.

what can be done?

this is in power mode (watts).

is TC the same issue? havent tried it yet as i dont have a ss build yet.

ya. sadly its already 3.00
but your reply is rather worry-some as it sounds like a serious issue. hmmm...
Sorry you posted this while I was typing

which? its already 3.00

Not sure then, what batteries are you using, if there low rated in amps and your pulling more amps than the batteries can handle, that can heat up a device..

so let me get this straight.

how hot was it for you BEFORE the update and how cool is it now?

is it still "warm" after the update at all?
When the rx was first released I created the thread about it, it was worryingly warm, I've updated the mods 3 times since and I've not noticed it since

My two Reuleaux 200 came with firmware v1.07 and v1.08. Both of them would get warm when firing, even at 10 watts. After installing firmware v3.00 and v3.10 they stay cool at 10 watts nowadays.
I'll install 3.10 and we'll see. If it continues to be warm I'll introduce it to the wall at a high speed where it'll crash. Cause honestly I am sick of this... I spent so much time seeking batteries and now this problem.

When you connect it to UpdateWismec, it reports the software and hardware versions. Do you know your hardware version? Both of mine are v1.04.
