Vendor told me that Dekang Ruyan#1 is RY4 so I bought some. But it doesn't taste like Dekang RY4. From description I think it might be RY1.
As oppose to the yellow color of RY4, the Ruyan#1 I received is almost clear, not sweet, no caramel or vanila, it is slightly tobbacoy and peppery and has a hint of some herb ( maybe like a herb one can taste on Chinese quick noodles?). Over all the flavor is about the same strength as RY4.
Anyone well familiar with RY1 can confirm or deny what I'm tasting is about right for RY1?
