So I popped by my local today for a re-up on some T5 heads. At the cash, they had a big bin of juice discounted by 50%, including two bottles of Dekang RY4 at my strength (11mg). I must admit that I've been very faithful to Canadian made juices so far, but 60ml for $20 was too good a deal to pass up.
Anyhow, I loaded up my at-work clearo and gave it a go. Overall it's pretty decent but not awesome. Throat hit is above average, flavour is average to slightly above average (this batch seems to be more on the dry tobacco side, with a VERY light sweet caramel finish), and vapor production is good. There's something interesting to it that I'd never really thought of before though: it's very satisfying. Generally I stick with Flavour Crafters (FC) Mild Tobacco or FC Dunhull Tobacco in rotation. They're amazing flavours, so much so that I have tended to vape a little (OK, a lot) too much throughout the day. Basically, I kind of feel lost without my PV. However, with this new RY4, I have found that after a small session (i.e. one about the amount of time it would take to smoke an analog) I feel sated. For the first time in the last 6 weeks, I don't feel compelled to keep chaining. I see this as a good thing.
By way of comparison, I've also tried the FC RY4, which is significantly more expensive even at regular prices. I have found the Dekang to be much better in the flavour department, with a much more pronounced and notably more tobacco-y taste. The FC, to my taste buds at least, much "subtler" (i.e. tastes kind of like stale, barely flavoured air).
They also had the Protank II in stock. I had to flee as quickly as possible to avoid that purchase, as my wife would castrate me in my sleep if I came home with another new tank...
I have read that the Dekang RY4 tends to be hit or miss, but I wanted to post this to encourage those looking for a more economical juice to at least give it a try - it can, in fact, be quite decent.
Note: the reason for the markdown is an apparent renaming of flavour by Dekang - the bottles I picked up are still labeled "RY4" as opposed to DK4 (the new name).
