Two weeks ago I mixed a batch of ry4 double TFA at 30pg/70vg , 7% flavor, 16mg nic and im getting a floral taste. Cant really taste the caramel and vanilla. Its not the coil because the previous juice I used was a strawberry cream mix. Is this normal for ry4 double? Anyway to get rid of this floral taste?

One of my favs but never alone. Add FW caramel 2% and FW butterscotch ripple at 2% or pretty much any custard. I dont touch mine for a month

I have to respectfully question your assumption. Strawberry is quite floral/aromatic to me. I would run some more of your RY4 e-liquid through it, or try it on a fresh coil (wick is going to be the real culprit), before passing any judgement.

Also, TFA says this about their RY4 Double:
"** Some customers detect a very slight fruity note to this flavor, but others don't."

Combine the possible fruit perception, with the fruit aroma left in your wick, and I am not surprised that you are getting floral notes. The hot thermos may have also accelerated/intensified the release of the aromatics. Just letting a batch naturally age can answer that question.

If you are still getting it on a clean wick; sometimes leaving the e-liquid exposed to the air (aka. "breathing" the juice) can help to dissipate those aromatic notes. It can take just a couple of hours for very subtle notes; to a couple of days for really stubborn aromas. If 48 hours doesn't do it; it is unlikely any further breathing is going to help.

Just good old-fashioned aging might take care of it too. If you can't get it enjoyable right now, park it in a drawer or cupboard, for a couple of weeks and then revisit.

dc99 is right on. I had trouble tasting caramel too until I mixed the ELR version of Tribeca.
Acetyl Pyrazine 5% (TPA) 2.00
Caramel (CAP) 2.00 ------------- I sub'd (TPA)
Cotton Candy (10% EM/Ethyl Maltol) (TPA) 1.00
Graham Cracker (TPA) 4.00
RY4 Double (TPA) 12.00

Vanilla gets more "heady" with age. Initially it may have a floral/sweetie zeal to it. Vanilla depending on the variety of bean used- takes time to fully marry with it's partner. Think of a basic buttercream vanilla cake frosting, at first it is very sweet but after a day or two it has a more nutty taste to it. Best of luck on your blend!

You could sub something like pistachio or just leave it out. EM is cotton candy. Same thing. English toffee should go good with RY4dbl

Your Toffee and Ethyl M. is said to add sweetness to mixes, if you like the recipe sweet, go for it.
The Acetyl Pyrazine 5% (TPA) 2.00%, some folks claim it enhances and may add notes of nuttiness, roasted, breadiness, yeastiness to the recipe. I imagine you could add 1-2% of any: pistachio/almond/hazelnut etc, wouldn't hurt. Half the fun of DIY is experimenting.
