My taste buds seem to be changing again. Here of late, I've had to change my percents on everything. Makes no rhyme or reason though, because I have to go up on some, down on others. The good part of that is that I'm still finding mixes that I like really well.

I'm also wondering if our equipment isn't playing a part in that as well. I think almost every one is benefiting from better equipment design, regardless of what they're using.

When I went to the 804s I had to lower my nic level and lower the percents in some of my mixes. Recently I went to mechs because of two lava tube types in a row quickly developing button problems, so now I'm wrapping my coils at lower ohms to suit the mechs. I'm thinking that's playing a role as well as changing tastes.

Equipment plays a huge part in flavor. A cotton filled carto does a poor job of delivering flavor. Kanger T3 clearo will do a much better job of delivering flavor and a rebuildable atomizor (rba) such as a kayfun would be the ultimate flavor delivery device.

Mtype could be toxic real quick, ...

My next project is to premix the Mtype, im thinking 25% or 50%. Measuring out anything less then 10ml at 1% with the Mtype is HARD!!! That's how strong this stuff is. I would love to mix it at .25% but lets face it, that's 1 drop in 10ml, no where near accurate.

Try this trick: downmix with 3 part PG to 1 part M-Type flavor. This will yield a 25% concentration. Then if you want to mix recipe at 0.25%, you would use 1ml i.e. 4 x 0.25 (or, if you prefer, 0.25/25% = 0.25/.25 = 1ml). This is what I do. It gives more accuracy and greatly reduces your chances of

Six months into DIY and vaping in general. M-Type is my go to ADV. I was mixing it with TFA cinnamon danish and DDL. I am using between 2 and 2.5% M-type in a 70/30 9mg nic mix on a Kayfan At 1.2 ohms and cotton wick. Now that I found out the bad stuff is in the other TFA flavor mixers I have switched this to (of all things) TFA Cheesecake graham cracker crust and FA fresh cream and it is about the same. The only other vape I really like is my TFA caramel cappuccino mix now that is infected too...

I am going to go back and try the RY's again. I use a UC for 3 to 4 hours to speed steep this stuff and it works for me. I am going to do the next batch in the crock pot at 150 degrees and see how that goes.

This group has been very valuable to get me to where I am so quickly. Pretty much the first batch of DIY I made is what I am still vaping today because of the stuff I learned here. Thanks go out to DannyV45, w2rcool, and buffaloguy. You guys rock

I'm not quite sure why you would use an m-type with a fruit. M-type tends to be a bit over powering and ashy and does not seem it would go well with a fruit or sweet. I would have chose a more netural tobacco or one with a bit of sweetness.

Love the M-type with TFA Juicy Peach. Nom, nom.

M-type and cubano is an interesting combo. Easy does it with both of them. Goes good with sour apple, or a hint of cherry. Cherry goes very good with a light tobacco too as a back note. But I agree, M-type is a strange beast. Get it right and its really good but get it wrong and its extremely bad. No saving this one when it goes to the dark side.

I did my last 30ml batch of M-type in a crock pot at 150 degrees for 4 hours and it is just as good if not better then using the Ultrasonic cleaner. The color was about 15% more golden then it usually is from the UC and the nic hit is the same of not better. The UC works great but so does the crock pot YMMV. I have been speed steeping (4 hours) M-type from day one and haven't had a bad batch yet.

I never never never ever go higher then 3% on this stuff.

I don't like strong flavorings, but this works for me, still not quite there but its getting closer to "done". Still tweaking the add-ons. I must admit I never seem to get to a month steep on it. I have no patience with this one. I vape it away till gone. I must be stronger. Surprising how the Black Cherry compliments the 'strong' in the M-type and the Cubano. It needed something in the 'something' dept. I tried sweetener - yuk. I tried lemon juice - yuk. I tried acv - meh. I tried rwv - meh. Sour is king on this one.

M-type tfa - 1%
Cubano tfa - 1%
Black Cherry tfa - 4%
Cherry lor - 2% adds a 'maraschino effect' to it. I don't like the food coloring Lorann uses, but I can't find a flavor that compares to it.
Sour wl .5% (wl's Sour is 10% Malic Acid I think)

I pruchased M-type and Ry4 double tabacco flavor from TFA. I was warned that the M-type was toxic and very strong so I made a batch with only 1.5% flavor in 70/30 base at 24 nic.

I vaped it and it was just like eating a graham cracker. I was in vape heaven.

A lot of posts I see here say the Ry4 double is the way to go for tobacco flavors go so I mixed a batch of TFA Ry4 double at 4% in the same base and added 1% vanilla flavor when I vaped that batch I almost choked to death.

My question to the group is there anybody else that likes TFA M-type tobacco more than RY4 double. ........

To me M-type smells like soured cut grass(I used 2% with 62/38). U know the smell if you have ever scrape old grass from underneath your lawn mover.

As for RY4 double I just made a batch at 20% and wanted to try it so it wasn't steeped. I thought it was very smooth with not much of a flavor. I imagine after it steeps it will get stronger. BTW....the 20% was an accident, I thought I was making F.Vanillia, picked up the wrong vile. Anyone else use 20%, after it steeps I may have to cut it down.

I love M-Type. I mixed a small tester bottle (about 3 ml) at 2% 80/20 18 nic and left it for a month or two, I'd have to check my notes to see how old it is. I just vaped some today and it was really tasty. It is strong, it's nice when you can just use a tiny bit and get so much flavor. I'd have to try it more to really get the flavor profile but I didn't really get ashy from it, I noticed it seemed to have more floral notes than some of the other tobaccos I tested (cowboy, black honey, mild black or captain black.) I can see how it is an acquired taste. It was not my favorite of the ones I tested today but I can see myself definitely being in an M-type mood when I want something strong and different.

I have read that M-type need a LONG time to steep, like 4-5 weeks

I keep a log what I make, date and percentages. My log says I made 5ml of M-type(TFA) with 2% M flavor on 5-4-13(11 mths ago). I tried it after it steeped for month. I have tried it a few times since and today it still taste and smells the same, like soured grass clippings.

On that date I also made 5ml of 555 type DK TFA and 5ml of Virginia Fire-Cured(seedman). Out of all 3 TB flavors Vig.Fire is the only one I like and it is my only tobacco vap. Even made at XERO NIC it still has a little TH.

I hate to waste anything so tonight I mixed the M type, the 555, and all other batches I didn't like together. Threw some stong blackberry(TFA) in and vaping it. That blackberry will dang near overpower anything. So if you like blkberry and u don't like wasting anything, mix it with any batches you don't like and u can vap it.

Good suggestion! I'm trying that experiment with Black currant right now, steeping since yesterday, so far so good.

I did the same thing.Ordered it with my first order,my thought was grab several tobaccoo flavors and with the description they give on it,i figured it would be very good,it is the most foul stuff i have ever tasted haha, and i only used it at 2%.It has been steeping for about 3 weeks now,i may try it 1 more time in another week or so,but i dont have much hope in it being any better.
