OK, so I was excited to try RY4 for the first time. Everyone raves about it. I loaded up some from mr-e-liquid.com since it had good reviews and I couldn't believe how terrible the taste was. It has a strong chemical like taste, like paint thinner or something. Disgusting. No two ways about it. Is this normal and I just didn't know what to expect? What the hell?

I went through a 'love-it' phase with RY4's and now I can barely stand the smell of someone else vaping them.

Some are better than others, but my best advice would be to let it sit for a little while. Many prepared e-liquids do tend to soften over time and that chemical taste will fade away. So put it in a dark cool place and leave it alone for a couple of weeks, then come back to it and see. Also, you might want to try it in a different topper. Some juices will taste better in a clearo or carto and others are made to drip.

I've not tried the Mr. E-liquid RY4 (and I have tried a lot of different brands and varieties) but I will also say that I am sure someone will say it's the best juice ever, and some others will say it's the worst. As always, taste is completely subjective.

Some vendors have good Ry4 while others don't. I've tried Mr. Eliquids Ry4. It was way too sweet for me. I love sweet desert type juices but their ry4 was just overly sweet. To me, it taste like someone poured pure sugar over super sweet caramel. I never tasted any plastic burning in it but maybe it was Because of the overly sweet taste. I couldnt handle a juice that sweet. Some people love their Ry4 though. I've tried other vendors tht have delicious Ry4 juices. You'll just have to try more. There's good ones out there. The problem is everyone's taste is different. Good luck.

It might have been a burnt coil and wick in my kayfun =(. I tried it in my aerotank and the taste was much better. Almost like vanilla. I took the tank apart and dry burned the coil. The coil is only a day old, but if I burned the wick, is that coil now stained with bad taste? Do I need to wrap a new one?

I wrapped a new one and figured out what I was doing wrong. I was filling the kayfun too much and it wasn't wicking. All fixed.

You don't have to change the coil just wash it under water and dry burn it then re-wick. If your happy with performance of the coil it can last a very long time just wash it, dry burn and re-wick.

Well, I think my judgment of the flavor still stands, just not as bad as before. It tastes better with a wick that isn't burnt, but there is still a strange flavor that I'm not sure if I like. I think its the tobacco flavor that I'm disliking. Its flirting with my love of vanilla, but leaving me wanting more sweetness and vanilla flavor. The tobacco adds a strange sharpness to the flavor that I'm not used to. This is my first experience with a tobacco juice, so maybe that's it.

i agree with lady elizabeth baldwin. every brand of RY4 i've had tasted different from the the other. the essence of what the flavor is supposed to be is usually there but every vendor puts their own stamp on it.

I've been vaping RY4 for a long time now and can't say I've ever experienced that kind of bad taste.
To me it doesn't taste of much anymore, although that makes it perfect for an all day vape.

Mind you , I tried some Hangsen RY5 and RY6 once and they tasted absolutely foul, like the taste when you blow into a whoopee cushion, I can't believe that's what they were supposed to taste like.
So, it could be as simple as a bad batch.

I get my RY-4 from Madvapes (Hangsen). It's ok, not the best they have sold. They used to have a brand called Dekang or something and thier RY-4 and D-Tab was delicious but they no longer sell that brand in any flavor anymore. I ordered some RY4 from Singapore (Fasttech) about a month ago. I'm still waiting for it to come in the mail. If it is better than the RY4 (Hangsen). I will put in a big order with Fasttech so I have a nice stock of it and steep it if needed. A 30 ml bottle from Fastech was 5 bucks with free shipping. The 30 ml bottles I get from madvapes are $8.49. So if this china stuff works out, I'll be saving on my liquid expenses. I will just have to make my orders way in advance as it takes a long time to get over to the USA.

i can't help but wonder if you followed up by asking him how he would know that.

Instead of wondering what urine literally tastes like, I take it that he was going by where the sense of taste derives from, you know...your nose!...your sense of smell. If you've smelled caked on urine in a bathroom, you've got an idea what it would taste like. I didn't plan on asking him if he had any personal life experiences with tasting pungent amber colored urine. speaking of, however, 555 and RY4 do have that nasty dark amber color going on:toast:

back to the topic now... lmao...

My favorite tobacco flavor isn't a true tobacco flavor but has it in its key ingredients. Wakonda by Nicoticket is AMAZING. check it out. I'm currently steeping mine to see what the hype is about aging this flavor. Right from the mail package, this is one of my favs..who know's who it'll go no. I don't see it tasting like URINE anytime soon.:p

I've tried a bunch, and there is a HUGE range of flavors all called RY4.
MrELiquid is a pretty decent one to me - but it could well be that it's just not for you.
Don't chuck it though - let it sit for a few weeks and try it again - you never know (I HATED a very popular juice the first time I tried it [bobas bounty] but liked it a lot 6 months later).

I now make my OWN RY4 variant, and it's my all-day-every-day vape.

You might want to give Halo Tribeca a try. It's not a "typical" RY4 - but it's based on similar flavors - kind of caramelly to me, and quite popular.
