Sad day for Sigelei? :(

First - sorry if I I could have posted this thread in a better place, but I figured I would just put it here since I just started getting into variable voltage mods

That being said and out of the way....I was really excited when I first saw the pictures released for the sigelei T-max in the red color. I thought it looked really clean, the shade of red was awesome - I still love it - and it sounded like it was going to pack a punch and be an amazing mod - I thought this one would be the one, the first "expensive" mod I would get....

However, it turns out - the T-max is only able to hold one battery - the charge on it wouldn't even last that long. This was super disappointing to me, especially since it seemed like people where happy / excited about a new sigelei product coming out - but now that the specifics are out for the product, it doesn't seem like that many people are that excited about it any more

I guess, is anyone else out there as disappointed in this as I am? And just out of curiosity if anyone was going to get it, are you still going to? I mean the product it self looks great (I think, again in the red color - but idk)

Didn't have all that much interest to begin with. Some, because I like the boxy form-factor, but not much.

What else disappoints you about this PV?

I have two similar APV's to this (although not VW, not a big deal to me), a Segelei Ovale V8 and Smoktech VV Gripper. I love their form factor. The T-max having a more durable metal body is a huge plus.

That would be more than adequate. However, the single battery a T-Max will hold is an 18350. There's not enough room in it for anything bigger.

They really shot themselves in the foot on this one.

I think its interesting that everyone likes to tout the Vamo as being the Provari killer when in actuality all its killed is the Z-Max.You hardly ever hear any threads about it any more.

Same dynamic might be in play here.

Just an FYI to the OP though, I get 12-14 hours life out of my single batteries and extreme caution should be used whenever stacking batteries.

I'm not questioning your word, I've just not seen that myself yet.

Higher mah batts (over 2000) won't fit in my Sigelei, but the lifespan of a 2000 meets my needs. I carry a spare, problem solved. Been satisfied with it so far. Even dropped it twice! It's heavy.

The Vamo really did kill the Zmax.
As far as the Provari is concerned, there seems to be more threads about folks buying them then there ever was.

I'm not sure I see that big of a problem. The Provari mini takes a 18350 battery, right? The Provape 1 takes 14500 batteries. I mean, really? A whole heap of box mods use the 14500's. I use 18350s in my 3.7 Gripper and that guy will just keeps going and going and going. I use the 700 mAh 16340s in my V8...and get about the same life as I do with the 18350s. What's the big deal, I wonder? Personally, I've found that I can get the 16340s for such a reasonable price that's its no problem getting several. Load your Tmax, get a battery box and store 4 extras in there...you have probably 4 to 7 days power ready to go there!

It's about the mAh...not the dimensions, people!

I don't know. I still think it's a sweet looking mod that's in box form, is metal, and has VV. It' has the Zmax chip in it, so they say. What's wrong with that? I put in a pre-order for it. I guess I'll be the guinea pig.

[EDIT] I see posts all over the APV forum with people looking for "mini APVs" or "stealthy small mods". or "good APVs that take 18350". There is NOT really any different in POWER between the 18350 and the 16340 folks!

I think we have to wait and see what shakes out once vendors actually get them. The battery specs are confusing, in that one vendor states 1 16340, while other places are claiming 18650 or 2 18350. So.... who knows.

Guess I'll be finding out for myself sometime after the 15th. Very curious. Maybe I was wrong to jump on it...but you only live once, you know? And my finger was all twitchy and next thing you know...click!...the deed was done. I'd kinda wanted red, but they vendor took that option off, so I figure black is good, too. Maybe even work out better with my accessories and such.

I hope some reviews come out soon...so either I can be really excited or start crying in my beer!

I didn't realize 'everyone' stated the Vamo would be the ProV killer LOL. I certainly didn't advocate such. As for the Z-Max, according to the OP, it sounds like it may have killed itself. I don't want the ProV killed cause I am going to get one to go with my 5 Vamos. Can't have enough mods.

If it ends up being the 18650/2 x 18350 configuration I will buy one. I already have 18650s, and its for my wife, I don't want her to have to carry around multiple batteries to get through a day of vaping. Not that she couldn't, or isn't capable of changing batteries throughout the day, I just don't want her to have to.

I was looking forward to the T-Max as well, as I love the box mod form factor (Love my MVP!). I can't understand how anyone at sigelei thought changing the battery it was supposed to take was a good idea. 16340=TOTAL FAIL

Different sources are saying different things. Some say 18650, and if that is true I am likely in.

Looks like it is 18650 size, similar to vv gripper. Using the 510 connection to judge the size.

Give the Vamo owners enough time and it will kill it's self. First one lasted 3 months before the chip when out in it. Second is placed in a drawer. Using the Tesla now and like it really well. Still fires at the same 37 htz as the other china mods do. But that's not what the OP asked. Sorry for the hijack of the thread.

While I understand some concerns, I think it wise to wait till someone has actually seen and used the product. In this day where there are at least 20 different reviews of Vaping devices on YouTube, there will be plenty of time to judge the device on its merits rather then conjunction.

I did email the vendor they confirmed to me, the T-Max will use a single 16340 battery based on info they got from the manufacturer. I will hold judgement till I see and try it.
