The type of e-cig that I use has an odd type of cartridge.
Inside of the filter is a hard plastic cap that holds the liquid. I can pop it out of the filter with a small paperclip. When I get a set of pre-filled carts from the supplier they contain the liquid, then a small layer of what looks like cotton, and then it is sealed with a thin piece of aluminum which has a thin layer of plastic on the side facing the liquid.
Excuse the crude picture as I'm too lazy to actually draw a graphic

When I insert the atty into the new cart it pierces the foil / plastic cap and the tip sits in the cotton and soaks up the juice.
Initially, I hollowed out the inside of the first few carts that I reused with e-liquid from other vendors.. Bad idea as the juice leaks out slowly and its messy since the foil is not there to hold the liquid in place. I added cotton on top of the e-liquid for my second attempt. It worked better but leaking is still an issue. My third attempt was to use a small dropper and leave would I could of the foil / plastic cap and cotton in place. This worked good; the leaking stopped.
But..
This leads me to my question. Now I want to make my own cap. I would like to prefill old carts so that I don't need to carry around a dropper and liquid.
What materials are safe to use that come in contact with an atty? Is there a type of glue that is safe? Is plain cotton from a q-tip ok to use? Is aluminum foil safe if it comes into contact with an atty?
My instinct is to use syran wrap but it will melt?!? I don't want to inhale burning plastic. I could use a small binder (like for braces) to hold the makeshift cap in place.
I also remember from my fun youth that aluminum foil may cause alshimers disease down the road?
But its not coming into contact with a flame so its molecular structure should not be effected?
Any help or advice would be great. Thanks pros
