Basically, for storing the batteries, anything that keeps them isolated will work. What you don't want is anything that will cause the battery to short out and possibly explode, stay away from anything metal, stick with plastic and you will be fine. I use an altoids tin (yes it is metal, BUT... ), it is lined with fun foam all the way around the sides, on the top and bottom as well, with 2 dividers, and I can carry 3 18650 batteries, or 2 18650 and 2 18350 batteries at a time with no fear of them shorting or exploding.

But to answer your question, yes the tubes the batteries came in will be more than sufficient. Remember, they were good enough to ship the batteries! The wooden case and bubble wrap is totally unnecessary and overkill though ... YMMV!

You could carry them around in your cheeks like me .......

or .... the packaging they came in would be fine, it's not like they were really THAT dangerous ..... unless they got shorted out while someone was carrying them in their cheeks.
