I have been reading about batteries on the forum and wanted to know if at all the battery explodes, will a high Amp or a high mah battery do more damage?

In my opinion the individual battery and its chemistry matters more than its current rating or capacity. Larger batteries could, potentially, burn for longer though due to more...umm...battery goop being inside.

The more Potential Energy stored (bigger the balloon), the more Kinetic Energy can be released.

I wanted to know this because for this Holiday sale I was planning to get a double battery mod (Vaporesso Polar) and I am sure I wouldn't go more than 75-80 Watts, so I wouldn't need anything more than 15 Amps per Battery.

Looking at your recommendations on Youtube and on the forum I have narrowed it to Sony vtc5a, lg hb6 for high Amp and Samsung 30q, Sony vtc6 for more Capacity.

I think any of these would be good but since larger batteries would react more violently, I am looking at Lg HB6 because its just 1500 mah. will this be a good choice over others (especially VTC5A)?

Also, considering Nitecore i2 charger and don't mid charging batteries frequently if HB6 is really good choice.

I would really appreciate others input as well on this and the Mod (Vaporesso Polar) and Batteries.

I’ve edited my post.
While a larger battery might react more violently IMO it’s the chemistry that mostly determines that. A 3000mAh battery isn’t inherently more volatile than a 1500mAh battery. That 1500mAh battery could be using a chemistry that reacts slightly more violently. We don’t know.

While any use of these batteries only meant for use in a protected battery pack comes with risks we can minimize those risks by not misusing or mishandling them.

The VTC5A and 30Q aren’t known for any kind extra risk versus the HB6 as far as I know. Any battery can be a problem if abused and any battery can be problem free for years.

You can certainly use the HB6 though but buy extra sets as you’ll probably be changing them often.

Keep the battery wraps in PERFECT condition, use a good charger (I don’t have any recommendations yet), never leave them charging unattended or while you’re asleep, charge on a non-flammable surface, store them in non-conductive containers and not in the mod or charger.

I don’t know anything about that mod or its reputation for reliability.

Mooch's advice is excellent, as always, but I just wanted to add a bit here. Battery wraps are fairly fragile and get damaged regularly. The good news is that they're easy and inexpensive to replace. I'd recommend picking up some replacement wraps and a few insulators when you get your batteries. Then you just need to watch a few videos on Youtube about rewrapping, get hold of a hairdryer or heatgun to shrink the wrap on and you're ready to go. If you have any questions, we're always willing to answer them.
