My lock ring on my chi you is all gunky and doesn't spin like it first did when I got it home. So what would be a safe thing to lubricate the rings and threads? I don't want to accidentally put something unsafe on there.

Also what's the best way of cleaning said threads.

Thanks for the answers in advance. Sorry for being such a noob still too lol. I'm learning slowly but surely.

(mods if this is in the wrong area please move it and I apologize if it is.)

Ah ok. I'm reading into it. And will stop by lowes or something tomorrow. But my next question is my lock ring shouldn't conduct right? I should've been more descriptive. It's the firing switch.?

Aluminum Threading : Just the tiniest amount, apply at the start of the threading, when you screw things together, the action will carry it

If it were my switch, I would put it in a bowl of alcohol and work it while submerged to clean it out, then let it dry

The Reef just off the Florida coast
From the makers of Noalox:
  • Anti-oxidant
  • Reduces galling and seizing on aluminum conduit joints
  • Suspended zinc particles penetrate and cut aluminum oxide
  • Carrier material excludes air to prevent further oxidation
  • Improves service life of aluminum electrical applications
Just my opinion:
Is your mod aluminum? Use Noalox.
If not, don't.
It gunks up and is difficult to clean off.

I used to use Noalox. I quit.

Yeah, Noalox is more of a mess than it's worth. And people don't realize that it's dialectric properties only work when used with Aluminum!!

I used to slather Noalox on all my old mechanical mods when I was a noob, thinking that I'd make them hit harder. I too quit....
