So I'm trying to develop a juice that tastes like the best after-dinner drink I ever had while vacationing in Las Vegas. It was called "Bridget Got Her Groove Back" and I ordered it at the Rhumbar outdoor bar at the Mirage. It has lime, coconut, simple syrup (sugar) and sage flavors in it. Sage was one of the major flavors that stood out in this drink, and I loved it.

Problem: I have yet to find a flavoring that tastes like sage. Anyone know if one exists?

You should be able to use the essential oil, provided you use it in very small quantities. Probably best to dilute it down in PGA before working with it. Nature's Flavors has organic and therapeutic grade essential oils, but I haven't really used essential oils much so I can't comment on the quality of those. Maybe check out this site on therapeutic grade essential oils: What makes an essential oil therapeutic grade?

The main chemical components of sage oil are a-pinene, camphene, b-pinene, myrcene, limonene, 1,8-cineole, a-thujone, b-thujone, camphor, linalool, bornyl acetate and borneol. - Sage oil (Salvia officinalis) - information on the origin, source, extraction method, chemical composition, therapeutic properties and uses.

I can't say that I've seen it, but I wonder if you could make one by putting sage in a little bit of PG...maybe wrap it in a coffee filter or something to make sort-of a tea bag out of it. I can't imagine you'd need a lot, though, so this would be likely to produce a lifetime supply.

Great idea! Thank you! :)

Do you think it's safe to vape? I mean, I know it's fine to eat, so my guess is it would be okay. Can you think of any reason why it wouldn't be?

EDIT: It looks like it can be pretty toxic, but Clary Sage Oil is not: http://www.essentialoils.co.za/essential-oils/clary-sage.htm#Precautions

I can't for the life of me remember who, but there is a supplier who sells lots of savory flavorings such as garlic, rosemary, etc. Someone will know who I am trying to remember...in the mean time I will continue to look thru my links :)

FreedomsmokeUSA has thyme and oregano; maybe Pheisty can make one with her own twist on it.

Honestly I worry about people buying those because they are only available from FA in a vegetable oil base, which is dangerous to vape.

Which? The savory category or the thyme and oregano? Probably a stupid question, but I'm guessing these would be used in miniscule amounts. What would make them more inherently dangerous than a peppermint oil or one of the other oil flavorings that can be diluted down in a PGA?

And, for the record, I will personally make a heartfelt vow not to vape the anchovy, even if proves to be vegetable oil free.
