Read my blog on sweeting it will tell you what you need to know.

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/blogs/dannyv45/5007-sweetening-additives.html

Read it - thanks! You mention EM and Sucralose, but you don't say if they taste like real sugar or like artificial sweeteners. To me all artificial sweeteners have an aftertaste. Even Stevia, which isn't technically artificial. Still hate it though. Tried the sweet cream flavorings - do not like. The thing that has worked for me is to get a non-sweet coffee base and add a few drops of premixed butterscotch juice. This adds just the right amount of sweetness without any bad aftertaste. But I failed miserably trying to create my own butterscotch using the FA flavoring.

I guess what I like is real sugar, but I know I can't just add simple syrup to my e-juices - that would gunk up my coils and wicks like mad. So which sweetener tastes the most like real sugar?

(Note - I am mostly trying to DIY coffee and tea juices... I don't do tobaccos. Don't like anything too sweet, which is why I went to DIY in the first place - almost every pre-made juice I have tried is too sweet for me or tastes artificial.)

To my experience, Sucralose tastes artificial and Ethyl Maltol tastes natural. There is also Ethyl Vanillin which is kind of like a natural vanilla. Of course, taste is subjective.

Got it - this is exactly the info I am looking for. Thank you! So which supplier should I buy Ethyl Maltol from?

There's no getting around the artificial taste of EM or sacarlous because they are artificial. And as you said real sugar will gunk up the hardware very fast. To me Sacarlous taste as close to real without using real sugar. I've herd of others using corn syrup but I've never tried it. I've also never used stevia so maybe others who have can chime in. Taste is very subjective and sacarlous works well for me so I never felt the need to search further.

I was looking at a little bottle of "Mio" liquid used to add to bottled water as a flavor and thought of maybe trying it in a mix to see how it worked (Berry Pomegranate) it's got sucralose and acesulfame potassium as the sweetener that's in it. But, haven't tried it yet. I know that this stuff is concentrated so, if it's workable it would go a long way, i'd think. (dunno yet)
