Yep, that thread has good information. In person, it's a bit trickier to find than online. Some pharmacists actually claim (big fat liars) that .9% sterile saline solution (typically marketed/labeled for wound irrigation) requires a prescription

Our local mom & pop pharmacy keeps it 'in back', but when we inquired he went at got it for us...but he did question why/what for (like it's any of his beeswax, it's friggin' salt water). It's the same stuff that folks used to mix with their nebulizer meds for nebulizer treatments (most meds are now sold premixed), but that's another way of getting the stuff without preservatives and other additives.

Most of the eyewashes & contact lense solutions contain other additives.

Wethinks you're gonna love how it pops yer juices!

It does require a prescription over a certain amount. I work at a medical supply retailer. Same with oxygen tubing. Apparently some people use the stuff for illegal purposes and the govt restricts a lot of things.

There are many businesses, companies and pharmacies that will not dispense certain things 'without a prescription' for all kinds of "cover our .... reasons" (or not wanting to do the paperwork), but that doesn't necessarily equate to those things actually requiring a prescription legally.

It's sold with no restrictions on Amazon (some selections are case quantities); we can't see that saline solution could truly require a prescription. But we've never double checked

We use equal parts distilled water and saline (.9% solution). Saline has the benefit of hydrating (in small amounts) - so it helps keep mouth, throat, & sinuses moist/soothed...and it seriously pops flavors (and that means having to less chemicals/flavoring).

In our "VG base", we use 9% distilled water; 9% saline solution (.9%) and 2% pure grain alcohol. Only one person has (posted) being able to taste the salt, and they went to down to 5%.

Test some small batches with & without it, and see how you like it. We can't recall anyone saying they didn't like it (but we can't possibly read every post).

I'll be 100 percent honest. I can most definitely taste the salt. I know I am the minority also. Im giving it a fair shot tho lol. put all the saline mixes in the cabinet for a few weeks and Ill try it again. I did 9% saline and 9% water. to me it muted the flavor but it did seem to mend them better but tasted like a mouth full of salt. then i did just 9% saline. same thing . then i cut both those recipes with 50 percent vg. still couldnt handle it. tried it at 5 % same thing. my throat hurt and just salty as all you know what. tried it with my own saline , baby nasal spray and some actual saline a family member actually had. shake and vaped some, ultra soniced others. I have about 8-10 bottles of various saline juices I cant vape lol.I never know when to give up..maybe someday they will get better... but like I said I know Im the minority and I hate to disagree with the pros because that just makes me feel like Im wrong lol... and I know it wasnt all in my head. my throat hurt all day trying to make it work. ha

I also had bad experiences with .9% saline. I tried at 10-5% in a number of PG/VG and 100% VG mixes and I thought it changed the taste of my juices for the worse and made them more harsh tasting(possibly the salt). The only way I do not notice it is with a very sweet flavor, so it's not for me right now. I really wanted to help me with possible hydrating and/or misting my mouth while vaping in the dry winter months. I just stick with 50/50 or higher VG mixes.

I've been looking for a way to get "salty snack" flavours. Could adding saline possibly work? Would sit well with my popcorn flavour :)

If your not salt sensitive your probably not going to taste it with out thinning your E-Juice to water consistency....I have used Saline .9 on all of my mixes at 10% and I still haven't tasted the salt.
