Salty?

I have my sweet bases covered. However I have a few.... interesting ideas I plan on trying. I'd love to get a bit of "salt" into my flavor mixes. Has anyone had any luck with adding anything to make their vape "salty"?

Yes- I may end up making myself a little sick trying to add a very very little (liquified) sea salt if no one has any answers. I'm not suggesting it's the only answer just the only one I can think of off hand. Please be gentle to me darlings- I'm new to DIY.

Salt won't vaporize at all, so I don't think you should try it. It won't even melt in your atomizer. It will also increase the temperature needed to vaporize what it's dissolved in. It would probably smell like the sea rather than taste salty even if it did.

Get some Margarita flavor and lick then dip your PV tip in salt...sit back and vape away like your at the beach.

At the hospital we use a 0.9% NaCl (Normal Saline) solution with some inhaled medications -- and I used to buy a saline solution from the pharmacy to mix with some of my son's asthma rescue meds....not a DIYselfer and not recommending anything but just sharing that a salty taste might be possible...

What would it do to the atties, I wonder??????? Not good things, I imagine

I won't risk hurting myself or my toys. I'll wait and do a bit more research maybe there's some magic mixology thing I can try to get the same idea. A salty caramel or chocolate covered pretzel juice just sounded sooo good.

My take would be that actual dissolved salt is still going to be crystals suspended in a solution. Is unlikely that you could reduce salt to its elemental state (molecular). You'd have salt film in the atomizer and salt will make a liquid conductive, corrode the atomizer element, and wreak havoc with the battery contacts.

Maybe someone knows of a salt substitute that does not possess the corrosive and electrical properties of salt. High fructose corn syrup is substituted for sugar almost everywhere these days. Maybe there's a sub for salt taste.
