Different hardware (mod, atty); different set-up (coil, wick); different ingredients used to formulate the recipe (due to cost, and/or availability); or new formulation of existing concentrate(s)(by manufacturer due to materials cost, and/or availability, and/or trying to get away from undesired components like Diacetyl , Acetoin and Acetyl Propionyl; packaging (change in supplier and/or material); age; storage conditions (temperature, and light exposure); inaccurate mixing of the recipe by shop personnel. Or, maybe your own perception is just off (cold, flu, alergies, vapor fatigue, etc.)

Any of those alone, or in combination, can cause a difference in taste. Without knowing more about your situation, we can't be much more help. Have you asked the shop?

Sometimes juices continue steeping as you use them, it could be as simple as that. However, as IDJoel stated above, there are so many things that can cause taste differences, it's hard to know. Were you away from the juice a while? Vaping something else? How was it stored? And, are you using different equipment? These can all cause changes as well, even wattage or resistance can cause a juice to taste and feel different. Do you actively dislike it, and has it changed for the worse? You could certainly go back to the store if you are feeling something is wrong with it (but it may just be the natural properties of the juice and the equipment...)

Best of luck,

Anna

I bought the same flavor juice at my local shop and I have been vaping for 2 weeks but it tasted completely different. Any thoughts on why this could be?

first 2 weeks? ... taste buds are still changing.

This can last several months ... vape through it.

welcome to ECF

Vapor tongue. Or try giving your juice a good violent shake.
If the OP has only been vaping for 2 weeks (and I could be totally wrong; perhaps OP meant vaping that particular flavor for two weeks) I would be HIGHLY skeptical that they are already experiencing flavor fatigue (I suppose it is possible; but I have never heard of such an instance). If it is a taste/palate issue; I would be more inclined to agree with @WillyZee that it may be a changing/healing palate.

Sorry, not directed to any individual, but I gotta... <begin rant now>

I believe that "vaper's tongue," or "flavor fatigue" can be a a legitimate problem; but it seems (to me) to becoming the common scapegoat for all vaping woes. Unless an individual's taste is shot/off across the board (vape, food, beverage), I think that this is often inaccurate, and unhelpful. Before attributing problems to vaper's tongue; first ask "Do all/most/many e-liquids lack flavor? Does the symptom cross over into foods, and/or beverages?" If the symptom is only linked to one e-liquid, or one particular device, we do neither the afflicted person, nor the vaping community at large, a service; to just dismiss it as vaper's tongue, and blithely move on to the next post.

We hear "vaper's tongue" so often; that we dismiss poor set-up ( improper power settings, airflow), bad technique (e.g. coil building, wicking), inappropriate devices (for the desired result), substandard e-liquid, and who knows what-all else; as just another case of "vaper's tongue." It is easy, no one can say we're wrong, and who knows what it really entails anyway.

(I am convinced that) It does happen; we can overload/overstimulate our sense of taste. But what does it take to invoke it? And how might it affect us each individually? What are each of our own personal thresholds? Until we have a better understanding of what it is , what triggers it, and what we can do to counteract it; I feel, that time and effort are better spent ruling out other more(?) controllable/understood(?) variables.

Okay; I'm stepping down off my soapbox now. Sorry for getting so preachy. <rant over>

I am still inclined to believe it is more likely due to inconsistencies in the vape shop's production, and/or handling. (the few shops around here, that used to offer their own proprietary blends, all had similar reputations for inconsistencies).

@stols001 also has a valid thought regarding manufacture age. If it is an extremely fresh batch, and hasn't had time to mature ("steep" (man; I hate using that term)); I could see the possibility of the overall profile not yet coming out. I DIY my own juice, and have more than a couple of recipes that just don't taste like much until the individual flavors have had a chance to blend and balance out. Some creams are non-existent for the first couple of weeks, while other custards just seem to overwhelm anything else in the mix for 3-4 weeks; as just two personal, albeit anecdotal, examples.

Sorry, but without @Smiieth (the OP) providing more info, such as:
-- vaping history
-- vaping setup/gear
-- expectations
-- comparisons with other e-liquids used (preferably during the same time period)
-- e-liquid profile in question
-- personal health
-- ???

We are all just grasping at straws in the dark. Just my opinion...
