I just got a light blue Samsung 25R to replace a fake purple Efest battery that I bought from my local vape shop. Since it's a hybrid battery, will my TrustFire multifunctional charger charge it safely? It has charged it the past couple days with no issues. But I've been reading that you can only charge hybrid batteries with certain chargers. This is the charger I have TrustFire Multifunctional Charger.

Also, where do the Samsungs stand in the market? I can't get a real answer anywhere I look. All I know is a friend told me they're the next best thing to a Sony VTC(3, 4, 5). But he also told me the same thing about the purple Efest batteries I have, until he discovered these Samsungs.

I rarely ever go below .5 ohms because I have an Atlantis on an Aspire CF Mod. But my Mutation is currently built at .4 and I also run it on the CF Mod. So.. a little info for you guys to determine whether I have good batteries or not.

Yes, that charger will do the job. OTOH, it's not a great charger and I would be careful not to leave batteries on charge for long after they are finished charging. The correct setting for these batts is 3.6V.

Samsung makes very good batteries along with Panasonic, LG, Sony and probably a couple more I can't think of right now. The Samsung 25R are rated for 20 amp max continuous discharge.

You're good down to 0.4 ohms with 20A batts in mechanical mods. What are you using these batteries in?

The Samsung 25R is a good battery, so worry not there :)

As ryedan pointed out that charger should work just fine, but care should be taken that they are charging to the proper level and they shouldn't be left in that charger for extended periods after charging is complete. I would highly recommend investing in a better quality charger at some point and relegate the Trustfire to "backup" duty. You've picked good batteries so kudos to you, but IMHO the charger is second on the list of things that are worth not skimping on regarding quality :2c:

i have had that charger for over 2 years, and was charging panasonic cgr 18650ch's on it which are also around the same age. that charger has a maintainer function in it and will continually pump voltage into the battery even after full charge trying to maintain a 4.2v full charge.....in an effect leaving a battery in it to long can cause an over charge.
non the less it is a trickle charger style(takes longer to charge) and seems to give a deeper charge to a battery even compared to my i4.

Thanks for all the replies. I'll be investing in a better charger pretty soon. I'm using them in an Aspire CF Mod with an Atlantis on top. Sometimes I swap the Atlantis out with my Mutation X V2 with a .4 ohm build on it. I'm usually pretty good at taking the batteries off as soon as they're done charging. But I do sometimes fall asleep with them on the charger. They charge right after work (I get off anywhere between 4am and 6am) and I usually wake up around 2 or 3pm and take them off if they didn't get fully charged before I went to bed. What's a safe and good charger with a nice digital readout?

Xtar vp series or nitecore d series have digital readouts I believe.
