Samsung have just issued a cease and desist order on their 18650s deeming them unsafe for use for vaping.
Samsung lithium-ion batteries declared unsafe for vaping devices: here’s everything you need to know
I’ve been chatting with the folks on the planetofthevapes.co.uk forum about it and Fogstar might be only stocking Molicels, Sony, Sanyo, Panasonic, Keeppower and LG. I’m unsure what’s going to happen with Samsung batteries in the states but here in the UK Samsung won’t be intended for vaping anymore.

Any lithium battery has the possibility of venting and causing a fire or potentially exploding if it can't vent fast enough. I have seen lithium prismatic cells (the soft pouch kind used in drones, cell phones, etc) violently vent when abused in RC aircraft. I have also seen an AW IMR350 vent when shorted for a few seconds, like a fireworks spewing flames and spinning rapidly on the floor after removal and pitching (I cant remember the name of that type of firework). Heat, overcharging, and discharging too rapidly are the enemies. We do use these close to our faces so know the warning signs.
