Chipotle.
...Did you get them from eBay? They could be fakes, there was a user having this exact problem a few days ago and the batteries ended up being forgeries. Post some pictures of your batteries, specifically the top(positive pole) as it should have only three connection tabs if it is an authentic 25R.

Had to screenshot the exact ones I bought because the camera on my phone has too high quality of imagery. But I bought them off Amazon.com and sold by Samsung. Box said they passed, if that means anything.

Taken from another thread about possible fake samsung 25r's

As a battery manufacturer, Samsung is one of the more reputable and highly recommended brands. Samsungs are frequently used in power packs for a wide variety of OEC power tools, so its possible that these were moderately used older batteries pulled from industrial tools and sold by a disreputable vendor to make a quick profit.

@Mooch why does the nomenclature say "INR"? Am I missing something?

The INR cells are "lithium-nickel-round" which is another way of saying it's a lithium-nickel-manganese-cobalt (NMC) hybrid cell. Not quite as safe as a true IMR, lithium-manganese, cell but still a lot safer than the ICR, lithium-cobalt cells. The addition of cobalt and nickel allows for easier tweaking of the chemistry for things like high CDR.

I believe the VTC5 and VTC4 are INR cells too.

[edit] But I have seen a Samsung document that describes the chemistry as NCA, nickel-cobalt-aluminum. Another hybrid chemistry that typically doesn't allow for higher CDR's. But since the model number of the 25R includes the term INR I am inclined to think that the documentation I saw had a typo.

Ok, thanks. I thought it had to be something like that. I knew the Old Skool ICRs were to be shied away from in the absence of protection, but INR didn't mean anything to me.

Impossible they were sold by Samsung. They dont sell those directly to the public.

Would you trust them is it read - Failed?
Why would the Box be marked with anything unless they were Used, Tested Cells. You unfortunately purchased from a Vendor dealing through Amazon that probably recycles. You should contact Amazon about a faulty Purchase and see if they will exchange.

Likely only one cell is weak, but used in a set it will ruin the second cell sooner.

I bought some Samsung INR 18650's for my Sigelei 150w. But for some reason the batteries won't let me go past 55w - my Sigelei says "Check battery" if I go higher. I tried other 18650's and haven't had this problem. So what's the deal here? Thanks y'all.

I have the same batteries and mod. Mine have no limit when they have enough charge. The mod reads voltage under load and will shut you down if that goes too low. If your batts were fully charged and you got that message IMO the batteries are counterfeit.

Well, another lovely long wait for batteries. But y'all helped a lot. Thanks guys.

Only buy batteries from trusted sources like Authentic AW Batteries - RTD Vapor

Amazon and Ebay are not trusted sellers for batteries. I could go on to one of those sites and create a username like 'Sony,' wrap AA's in a green wrapper and sell them as VTC4's just using a stock photo. There have been 3 threads on counterfeit/fake 25R's in the past week, all resultant from buying on Ebay or Amazon.

Sorry this happened, but I hope you won't buy from there again.

ETA: Please, go to that seller and leave some negative feedback so we can reduce the number of people getting duped.
