On June 21, the San Francisco Health Commission approved a proposal to ban e-cigarette usage where smoking is banned, and to require tobacco permit for sale of e-cigarettes. http://www.sfdph.org/dph/files/hc/HCRes/Resolutions/2011Res/ecig reso.pdf

Its been forwarded to the SF Board of Supervisors (i.e city council) for their consideration.

Here's another article on it from Steve Heilig

The legislation hasn't been introduced in the Board of Supervisors yet.

We need to carefully monitor
Board of Supervisors : 2011
for upcoming posts of introduced legislation, as that will also indicate what committee the legislation is assigned to.

According to Board of Supervisors : Legislation Introduced
no committee can approve legislation for at least 30 days after its assigned to the committee.

Once its assigned to a committee, I suggest that the committee chair be asked to hold a public hearing on the legislaiton.
