In my opinion, it isn't quite the same. While I do find puffing on my e-cig to be satisfying, it is not a direct replacement for an actual cigarette. But once you get used to it, and with enough will power to give it an honest try, you start to appreciate the differences in a good way. As far as an alternative to smoking, and if you want to try to quit or at least cut back, I tell people that the e-cig is a smoker's best chance at doing so. But with many things, "your mileage may vary". :)

It definitely depends on your experience level with the ecig. A few days ago when I started it was so-so but as I gained experience there were times it was quite satisfying. Turns out that fresh batteries and juice give at least several 'puffs' that are good, but as the battery discharges and the juice starts going down it isn't so good. Of course I am a heavy smoker so I tend to really draw on these things so the batts don't last long (even on the m201 which lasts much longer than the 510 or EVO). Probably going to try a few of the big battery mods that are out there. But I have definitely cut down on the analogs which gives me hope!

My dear friends, I felt the same way to,been vaping for 16 days, started with smoke 51
okay but clumbsy product (please forgive me didn't know any better at the time),moved to the 801 much much better rather satisfying at times like earlier poster strong battery very important, then after many many hours and days of research I discovered my new BFF THE VAPER KING !!! This ecig is not a substitute for analogs instead analogs is a substitute for the VAPOR KING. IT IS VERY CONSISTENT,no tweaking or modding, just install cart and go.Every draw has great throat hit, flavors taste great, long lasting batteries. I have been very pleased with it ,truly this is what vaping was meant to be.
Good Luck on the journey !!!

This is from my experience...

The e-cig has a learning curve. When I started I found it to be close, but not quite there. Mostly due to the throat hit. I moved to 24mg liquid and this solved that issue. However, it is still not exactly the same. After a couple of weeks I got the hang of it. Now I have a battery mod (silverbullet), and I find I enjoy using this a little more then a regular cig.

Keep in mind...

With a cig you are freebasing nicotine. Preliminary research indicates that the nicotine from an e-cig is absorbed in the throat and mouth. You will not get the same instant gratification from a e-cig. info

i prefer them to regular cigs and I have a mediocre e-cig right now (SE Gold.) I have 510s in the mail and am thinking about getting one of the battery mods. Got tons of different juices too. Spending money like crazy, but it will all pay for itself in about 5 weeks lol. After that Ill be saving $4-5 a day while enjoying it way more.

I started with my Twisp Dura C about three weeks ago.
It was strange at first but after just one day I stopped smoking analogues.
I had a puff on a mates cigarette a few days ago and it tastes awful. I don't think I could go back even if I tried.
with regards to battery life, I charge my Twisp maybe twice a day now and refill the same.
One charge will last me hours and if I feel I need to, ill top it up with the H refill, I am on M now.

In my experience with the 510 the first drag is better than an analog cigarette. I vape 24-26mg depending on the supplier. I was a pack-a-day smoker and quit the day I got my e-cig. I haven't even struggled with it. I mean the first day when I got a craving I still had that oh I need to grab an analog, but quickly reached for my e-cig and was much more satisfied. I didn't have to get up, go outside, and take a break from what I was doing to do it. I don't miss my analogs one bit. Everyone is amazed. For example today my boss at work was like well I would invite you to come out for a smoke with me but I don't want you to be tempted. I was like whatever, I'll go with you. Took my e-cig with me, she had her analog. I had no temptation for it. Though today I was outside with my girlfriend smoking same situation, I did ask her for a hit off her Marlboro No. 27. I was just curious because I had not had one in awhile and wondered what it would taste like. It tasted like crap compared to my e-cig with RY4. I will literally cry if they ban e-cigs.

I find that a good flavor e-juice is very satisfying, although in a different way. Surprisingly enough, I'm not a fan of the tobacco flavors, but I do love the flavors like cappucino, coffee & chocolate, etc. If the flavor is strong enough, it's very tasty.

I agree - I seldom vape the tobacco flavors! There is definately a learning curve, but I found giving up the cigs very easy. Went 2 weeks cutting down to 3-4 a day and found I didn't even want them so tossed the packs of analogs I had left and stuck to the vaping. I find the 16mg has just the right taste/throat hit ratio for me (When nic goes up, throat hit goes up and flavor goes down a bit) but I do have 24mg on hand for those time I really need a kick. I find that the urgency to have the nicotine has gone down. When I was smoking, I seemed to always want a cigarette - probably because there are so many times you can't have one! But with this, I know that if I need to I can pop into the ladies room for a few soothing hits and be good to go, so somehow I don't feel the nic attacks like I used to. Jump in - vaping is the bomb! ;)

You all know how satisfying a nice deep drag off your favorite cigarette is, does an e cigarette satisfy as well?

Yes. Take the brags about "throat hit" with a grain of salt. Heavy smokers are really looking for lung hit. Most of us are in agreement that this requires regular topoffs during the day.

You CAN get a lung hit with every vape. Where the strength of a drag will be more like a cigar than a cigarette. Only those with little experience, or the close-minded believe otherwise.

Finally, be very open minded to ecigs with or without mods that LOOK nothing like a cigarette. Pay more attention to the reliablity of the parts.
