I was just reading a thread in the new member subforums where someone was saying suggesting an ego as an automatic go to for people new to vaping is a bad solution. I'm a day and a half into vaping with an ego-t and kanger td3 tanks and this seems more than exceptible to me. I'm using vaping to quit smoking more than I am a hobby. I love gaping so far! I might upgrade down the line but currently I have no interest in vv batteries and mods. Is anyone else satisfied with my particular starter solution as a long term vaping solution? I'm just curious.

I disagree that eGo is a bad starting point but you've used something for 2 days. That's not enough time to know.

I stayed with complete eGo-C set ups for about a year and I liked them. I liked it more when I went to 18650 batteries and 3ml tanks.
eGo's were good enough but I was always filling or charging something. With 18650's and 3ml is more like grabbing a pack of cigarettes and going.

I started with an ego type battery and used it and a few kanger t3s and a protank mini. That lasted for about 5 weeks and kept me off analogs. I might have stayed on them forever and saved a lot of money, but someone let me borrow an itaste vvv3 then later let me try a mech with a dripper and it all went downhill from there. ;) I know people that are content and satisfied at using an ego style battery and spending thier money on other things they like instead of new mods, droppers, tanks, etc. If you can do it more power to you.

I too started out with an eGo-T, but that was over three years ago, and there was only one eGo-T.
Now there are so many clones/copies/knockoffs of the ego's that we don't know the quality of what a person gets. For that reason many of us will no longer recommend them for safety reasons.
BTW, word is that JoyeTech has discontinued producing the eGo-T.

Your two day old eGo-T not charging is a classic example of this (but at least it didn't explode while charging)

I've been vaping almost 5 years and have a big assortment of batteries and mods. I used Egos when they first came out and have used them on and off for years.

Right now I'm using Ego batteries and am perfectly happy with them. For me they provide a consistent vape and are easy to use. I like the size and shape of them. I use a variety of cartomizers/atomizers and tanks with them and really don't feel the need to have a VV/VW device though I do have a few of them.

I feel comfortable using Egos in public which I don't feel with some of my mods that remind of of light sabers. Sometimes bigger is NOT better.

The important thing is to use whatever keeps you from smoking. Best of luck to you gatorguy.:toast:

If the ego is what you perfer then that's great! I too started from a ego but I tried a veriable watt and a rba and that was such a huge difference I knew I wanted something like that and it was all over for the ego at that point on for me. Having the ablity to really bring out each flavor by adJusting the watts and volts made such a huge difference i never went back to the ego.

nothing wrong at all with an eGo battery, my wife has been using that type for about a year now, altho I have gone to an SVD/RSST and a couple of mechs... I got tired of recharging multiple egos and refilling tanks 3-4 times a day. Plus leaving an Ego in the back pocket and forgetting its there and sitting down isnt a good thing for the Ego or the tank.....
If I went to an SVD after the first broken Ego, I would have saved about 60$....

I used an eGo for a Long Time.

Still do use a eGo Sized unit when I'm Out and About. Only is a Vision Spinner which is VV.

It Really Doesn't Matter what anyone else uses or says. If your Set-Up is keeping you from Smoking, then it is a Great Set-Up.

Completely agree with everyone here - it's not what anyone else thinks, it's what YOU think about your setup. I do have a handful of eGo minis that I use while driving or working out in the yard. I'm not worried about dropping/breaking/losing them. My daily rigs are either the MVP2 or the VV3. MVP has longer battery life, and both have ohm-readers for when I'm building coils. Other than that - eh, "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" ;)

I agree that it doesn't matter what your gear is, as long as it satisfies needs to prevent a smoker from
    lighting a cigarette.

I would not recommend an ego.

It is a waist of money as so many of us upgrade each & every single one of the components.

I started with the egoT 2 pack kit for $70.00 - What a waist of almost $100.00!!!!
Plus the liquid. Yikes, I live and learn.

Within two weeks I upgraded toppers with 2 kanger pro miniIIs, extra replacement coils, a couple colored plastic
    drip tips, and more e-liquid.

Two weeks in and I was real close to $150.00 spent.

The ego & kanger gear was too high maintenance, weak power, poor vaper and unsatisfying for me.

I wasn't able to stop smoking until I upgraded to a cartomizer tank and an ego style vv 1300mah battery -
and those items are "mid-level/grade & price" in the kind of gear that's available.

I have 4 of these batteries in use with cartomizer tanks running 4 different flavors ( many of us run 2 or more
flavors and even nic level liquids ). One of my units is out of commission right now because the battery is
being charged. :( That is why I'm upgrading the battery again.

The amount of money some of us spend on finding the type of tanks & e-liquids we like, which is really subjective -
well getting a fairly decent battery to start off with is just better for a whole lot of reasons.

A new mvp2 shine should be delivered today or tomorrow and same for a new glass cartomizer tank - they are
costing me less than what I paid for my original egoT kit. And again these are mid-level & priced gear and they
satisfy me but are still a huge improvement over the ego. AND I'll be able to use the mvp when it finally needs
a charge after a couple days use.

Now I'll stop snatching my husbands mvp (which I do every night after he goes to bed :).)

More $$ - I've found I prefer long, glass drip tips. No more liquid on the lips or in the mouth.

Recommending a better battery to start off with is financially sound advice and it truly increases the odds
of you being successful at quitting smoking. :thumb:

Totally honest - the setup I'm vaping right now - button just started blinking so off it goes to be charged but
looks like my other one is done - this is so unnecessary, I can't wait for the mvp to arrive!
