I started with cigalikes, actually stuck with them for months until I switched up to ego's. Then I stayed with ego's for months. But I like to try this and that and everything. After a lot of experimenting I finally found my perfect set up. But everyone's diffrent. I believe whatever keeps you off cigarettes is the right choice. Use whatever your happy with. Don't listen to anyone who tells you differently, it's your vape! :thumb:

I used ego's for the first year I vaped and was fine with them. Heck, my mom has been vaping 3 1/2 years and still uses an ego. She's happy.

Once I found what I liked/didn't like about the setup I looked into mods -for me that was bottom feeders. But I still use an ego or a mini for on the go.

It's sometimes not a good fit for someone who really, really has a problem quitting and needs higher voltage to get off the cigs, or for some jobs where people don't have access to chargers, re-fills, etc. But it's economical, very light weight and you get a good vape. My only recommendation would be to stick to brand name batteries when you first start.

I started with an e-go type because I got impatient waiting for my lavatube to finish taking the slow boat from China. I still use it on occasion, but I've made vaping a hobby, where I enjoy building coils, getting new rda/rba's in the mail to build. These days, I primarily use my sentinel/m16 mod, because of its weight, looks, and feel. An e-go could produce similar results, but it's fun to tinker. Also, one great thing about using a mechanical mod is it makes a great self-defense weapon when walking the streets of NYC in the middle of the night. There's just not as much blunt-force-trauma with a wee e-go compared to 18650 sized brass mod.

OP: If it works for you and keeps you off cigarettes - that is all that matters. Congrats on quitting - I know it is not easy but in my case (and maybe yours) easier to give up cigs. when substituting a similar addiction.

If it's not broken don't fix it. Vape on be happy:vapor:

If and when it starts not to satisfy you, then there are many many different equipment options for you to explore in this multi-billion $ vaping business.

Sometimes I think that there are maybe to many choices with overlapping capabilities. More choices than car brands/models or cell phones.

Similar to cell phones and cars there are and probably always will be a new vaping gadget that is deemed a must have by many. They seem to pop up on a weekly/daily basis.

I have been vaping since 2007 and my vaping gear used in 2007 doesn't even exist anymore - which is not a bad thing - less reliable and even more finicky than todays choices.

I believe that egos are probably one of the most important products in the vaping industry. Versatile, almost anything will fit them, various sizes, can fit any budget, are easy to find and use.

Two years in and the only reason I have devices with changeable batteries is to guard against regulation. I'm sure that ego style batteries will be in my vaping arsenal for a long long time.

My sister still uses nothing but Ego Twists, which are what I bought her to get her started. She's looked at some of the other stuff, but just isn't comfortable with the thought of using anything larger than what she has. I'd say yes, there are plenty of people using Ego style stuff as a long term solution, especially among the female vapers or anyone else for whom the small size and the fact that they come in lots of colors easily trumps the better performance of other solutions.

eGo is a great vape. Nothing wrong with it and it can probably work for the long haul. You get all the nic you need, good flavor and vapor from a variety of toppers. You could probably be satisfied with this setup forever if…… you can manage to stay away from ECF. If you come in here and read these forums you are doomed….

There's absolutely nothing wrong with egos. I used them exclusively for 8 months and still prefer them anytime I'm moving around. They're light, portable, relatively inexpensive for a quality vv battery with a decent topper and really convenient on a lanyard or tossed in a pocket or purse. I like my MVP, but I won't give up my egos. :p

I was just reading a thread in the new member subforums where someone was saying suggesting an ego as an automatic go to for people new to vaping is a bad solution. I'm a day and a half into vaping with an ego-t and kanger td3 tanks and this seems more than exceptible to me. I'm using vaping to quit smoking more than I am a hobby. I love gaping so far! I might upgrade down the line but currently I have no interest in vv batteries and mods. Is anyone else satisfied with my particular starter solution as a long term vaping solution? I'm just curious.

I could not disagree more with the idea they're a "bad idea". Egos are great starters. Certainly better than "cig-a-likes". Things didn't start to come together for me until I pulled together an eGo kit. It was when I was using an eGo I quit smoking completely. Sure, I've moved to a "mod" now (Innokin VTR) but I'm, what, 16 months in now?

But eGo's are easy to use, maintain, and widely, widely supported (as in, everybody has parts and pieces for eGo's). And if you do decide to try variable voltage, there are eGo VV batteries. Your current toppers will screw on same as the non-VV versions. No hassle.

In fact, I can't imagine recommending anything but an eGo style system for somebody new. Yeah, I know mods have definite advantages in the long haul (which is why I have an APV eh?) but I'm a big believer in keeping it simple at first. As you said, you can always upgrade later...

i was satisfied with EGO's for a period of about 2 months. then i got frustrated trying to get the satisfaction i craved and it wasn't nicotine. i wanted the satisfaction of being able to 'hot box" a smoke on breaks at work . i then moved to tanks and mechanicals for another 2 months. the obvious conclusion for me was RDA's and mech's.. so much so i had to carry 3 to work so i could get experience i wanted ,at least in a short period of time. that worked til about 2 days ago when i retired. now i am happily vaping when i want/need and don't worry about a thing...of course there is the 4K i am into my equipment i use now ,but what the heck. i haven't touched a cig for almost a year. and that my friend is truly satisfying. best of luck.. <*}}}>{
