Saw a gold provari today.

24K Gold ProVari Variable Voltage V2 with Digital Display

I saw this at my local brick and mortar.. o_o
Anyone have any experience with it?

The specs are the same as any other Provari from what I can tell.
Looks fancy -- if not a little tacky

At $325.00 this doesn't sound good (especially with the exclamation point!) :

"The gold finish is not as durable as other models, and we cannot warranty against scratches, swirls or any type of blemishes in the gold plating!. Due to the plating process, small swirls or imperfections can be present on new units. The gold finish can fade or wear over time with constant use.

We inspect each one, but due to the nature of soft gold this is normal."

I'll bet it's a fingerprint magnet too.

gold-plating for a 100 bucks+, you are kidding....a quart of gold plating solution costs about $150 and you could plate more than 100 pieces with that. It will probably last as long as a cheap piece of costume jewelry.

To each their own. I like durability. So I wouldn't get one. But, I bet it looks great in person. Now if I could get an all titanium one... I'd be all over that...

Since we're on the subject on pipe dreams (no pun intended) why not a smartphone with a drop of plutonium so I wouldn't have to charge it for 10-20 years, plus glowing in the dark is cool
