Hey guys,

A little background of myself, I've always been a casual smoker, but I've recently started school back up, and with the stress the urge to start smoking has been there. So I've decided instead I would turn to vaping instead, and try out with low nic build to see if it'll take the edge off and curb the urge.

I've been lurking for a week or so now, but finally decided to make an account. I've been using friends' EV's off and on for awhile and decided to finally go and purchase one of my own. I probably jumped a few steps and went straight for a Box mod.

I ended up ordering a Vapor Flask Clone, with a Hobo Clone RDA. The temperature control feature intrigued me so I decided I would try it out with the clones to see if I liked it. I purchased two 18650 30A Sony VTC4 2100MAH batteries, Xtar Vp2 charger, ohm meter, Ni200 wire and a artistic wire coiling gizmo and KGD cotton. I bought some juice to try out online it's a 70/30 PG/VG ratio.

For the coiling, I've read that people have had trouble with contact builds do to hot spots since the coils would not be perfect. Now with the artistic wire coil and tension micro-coiling would that solve the problem? Or should I just learn how to space my coils

Now I want to make sure I'm safe when vaping. Since the batteries will be in parallel doing a nickel build that will be between 0.13-0.15 should work correct? I'll be drawing around 27A, and should have a limit of 60A Is there anything I'm missing, or anything else I should read? Did I jump in too far into the "advanced" territory too soon? It'll be another week or so before everything arrives so I plan on reading everything I can until then.

Thanks for spending the time to read this

Ronnie :)

May have went a little to far a bit soon. I believe those vtc4 batts have a 30 amp limit, although I have never used batts in parallel so I don't know if that will increase the amp limit. I would also suggest doing some research on how to spot a fake vtc4 just to be safe.

I would also suggest learning how to make coils by hand and then moving to the coil gizmo thing. idk why though it just seems like the thing to do.

Is there any reason you are going straight to a crazy sub ohm build? Have you done the research on the safety risks with that low of a build? I'm a pretty heavy vapor and I really enjoy a single 18650 batt with a single 1.2 ohm coil. Any thing below .7 just seems crazy to me.

Thanks for the advice, I'll probably learn to wrap by hand as well as use the gizmo so that I get the hang of it.

The reason I picked what I did, was the temperature control feature of the DNA 40, I didn't want to burn the cotton and get dry hits, and this seemed like something that would prevent that. And with Nickel builds, it seems like that's the range for them since it's a very low resistance wire.

I'll be sure to learn about fakes so that I'm sure my VTC4's are authentic :)

Thanks!

I think the ratio is correct? I"ll go back and look at it once it arrives but it may be high on the PG side, may have been a waste of money, I don't know too much about liquids, that's the next thing I was going to research. Are there any sites/brands you would recommend or is it better to go to a local vape shop and see what's available.

I got 28 gauge wire, I was looking into tension'd micro-coil builds, which is why I ended up spending a few bucks on that gizmo. I think the main concern would be hot spots if I tried a contact setup correct? Thanks for the help again!
