The fact remains that ecigs are not yet classified or regulated federally, period.

Back on topic... Could one of the law gurus chime in here and explain what exactly this Bill is aiming to accomplish?

I mean I'm viewing it from the point of view of a legal layman, who is considered by my clients and employers to be an expert on the subject of websites... With specific regard to data collection and advertising. And it seems like ludite gibberish to me.

Why yes! Because CA has magical Disney powers. And we all know the entire universe will just say "okey dokey" and go along with it because it's from the good old USA and that's all that matters to the universe.

I'm no lawyer and I didn't stay at a holiday inn last night but I'll chime in anyway. California has a history of just legislating for no reason with nothing better to do. Maybe the ecig community will turn on them like the gun community has and just say no sales to Cali. Couldn't sites just block all IP addresses originating from California and say they did their due diligence?

This Bill decides... I chose the term "not suitable for children" to describe the list of products/services covered in the bill...

It's a ponderous list:

• Alcoholic beverages
• Firearms or handguns
• Ammunition or reloaded ammunition
• Handgun safety certificates
• Aerosol container of paint that is capable of defacing property
• Etching cream that is capable of defacing property
• Any tobacco, cigarette, or cigarette papers, or .... wraps, or any other preparation of tobacco, or any other instrument or paraphernalia that is designed for the smoking or ingestion of tobacco, products prepared from tobacco, or any controlled substance
• BB device
• Dangerous fireworks
• Tanning in an ultraviolet tanning device
• Dietary supplement products containing ephedrine group alkaloids
• Tickets or shares in a lottery game
• Salvia divinorum or Salvinorin A, or any substance or material containing Salvia divinorum or Salvinorin A
• Body branding
• Permanent tattoo
• ..... paraphernalia
• Electronic cigarette
• Obscene matter
• A less lethal weapon

a few of those stand out to me as "Obviously already not marketed to children"... Tattoos, Firearms, handgun safety certificates

Others stand out in the "Seriously?!" way... Tanning, Lottery Tickets, BB device...
'BB Guns', REALLY stands out to me, because I assume this would include Airsoft... a Sport my 13yo son and I enjoy together on weekends.

I think it has far more serious implications, like censoring the WWW. With a list that long, it includes far-reaching implications that could include a system of monitoring websites and their visitors that could lead to a shutdown of the internet as we now know it. I believe that is the end goal anyway.

Prime example.... I downloaded the file needed to 3D print an AR15 lower receiver(the only part with serial numbers and considered a "firearm" by federal or state law )... Also downloaded the file for the "liberator" completely 3D printed pistol...

Not that I own the 3D printer needed to complete them... But just because I could.
