Hello and welcome. What seems to have worked for a lot of people (myself included) is to simply jump right in. Whenever you feel the urge to smoke, vape instead. Just keep vaping. Sometimes you'll be unable to resist an analog and that's alright, just have one (I mean "one" - no chain analoging

). In no time at all, you'll be down to a pack a day and then less. Just vape as many of the urges away as you can and don't be hard on yourself if you have to fall back once in a while. What you're doing is cutting down - a lot - and eventually you'll be smoke free.
I think this is the best advice you could get!
Although I'm a new vaper myself, I'm finding analogs less and less attractive each day. Today is the first day since switching 3 weeks ago that I haven't had an analog at all. It's just plain hard giving up a habit that you've had for years (25 for me).
Just get yourself a kit of some sort...you'll find what works best for you with some trial and error. I first tried a disposable Krave that I bought at the local dollar store, it was a huge let down. I then bought a 901 kit from a local headshop and liked it much better. Today I got my eGo in the mail and can't wait until it finishes charging.
Anyway, get a kit of some sort and just start vaping. The best advice I think is not to put too much pressure on yourself to stop analogs. If you make a conscious effort to try and grab the e-cig every time you get a craving you will soon find yourself choosing it more and more over the analogs. At first I was about 50/50 vaping and smoking but over the past week or so I'm getting to where I can't stand the taste of cigs anymore and prefer to use the PV. It's weird how you're craving just slowly changes from one to the other. I think that if I would have just dropped the cigs and switched 100% to vaping it would have been harder to avoid the analog cravings. So I definitely suggest going for an analog when the craving is really strong. Like I said, just try and make a solid effort each time you're craving to go for the e-cig instead.
Of course everyone's different and some have had no trouble dropping analogs immediately but if that's too much for you, allow yourself one occasionally for a bit until you just no longer desire them. If you are able to completely drop your normal smoke then by all means do it! If it proves a little too much temptation just give in on occasion, pretty soon you'll probably find that you can't even finish one because they just aren't any longer what you really want.
Another thing I recommend is to keep coming to this forum. Whether you're just reading or whether you're participating, it's great support to talk to others about it. If you can find smoker friends or family members willing to try and switch with you then so much the better. It's always easier to stop an addiction when you have others around you in the same boat.
