Hello Lilag and welcome to the forum. You have come to the right place for all of the support and information you need. We were all there at one point. I was fortunate enough to quit cold turkey the day I got my vaping stuff. Get a good setup and if you must, chain vape and leave the cigarettes alone. It is not that hard Post enough and be able to get that banner at the bottom to remind you what a positive step you have made in your life. If you want 1 on 1 support go ahead an PM me when you have a rough time.

Hello and welcome. What seems to have worked for a lot of people (myself included) is to simply jump right in. Whenever you feel the urge to smoke, vape instead. Just keep vaping. Sometimes you'll be unable to resist an analog and that's alright, just have one (I mean "one" - no chain analoging ). In no time at all, you'll be down to a pack a day and then less. Just vape as many of the urges away as you can and don't be hard on yourself if you have to fall back once in a while. What you're doing is cutting down - a lot - and eventually you'll be smoke free.

GREAT advice......!! I had my stuff for about a week before I quit. Not because I was "weak" or anything......(which I was), but because I still had smokes left around the house that I paid for. Can't waste that, right?

I timed it to where I had my last cig at night before going to bed. Smoked like crazy that last night to get rid of them all, then took my eGo upstairs with me when I went to sleep. When I woke up, there were NO cigs there and the ONLY option I had was the eGo......

First couple of hours were tough as I was always reaching for cigs but kept grabbing that eGo instead. After half a day, it was much easier.

Now, I don't even think about it.

Its important to find an e-cig that works for you (read the forums and watch videos to help make yours work well for you) and its also going to take some trial and error to find a e-liquids that you like. So read up on how to get the best experience from your model of e-cig and get small sizes or sample packs of e-juice till you find one you like. Don't be afraid to spend a bit of money, you'd spend it anyways on cigarettes so why not? And ask questions here!

I was smoking a pack a day and got my e-cig just thinking Id maybe smoke less. I fell in love with the fun and taste of it and haven't had an analog cig since the day my e-cig came. Haven't even wanted to! On the other hand, my hubby hasn't fallen in love as much as I have and still needs to find his groove. But - he is smoking a LOT less analogs - so its all to the good.

Just dive in - don't put pressure on yourself, make it fun for you.

be easy with yourself. if your first kit does not do what you want try something else. it takes a little Tim and maybe some experimentation to get it all figured out. that's ok. its worth your time and money to find the system that works for you.

i was a 2ppd smoker .....my first few weeks were a motley dissapointing with vaping. but after trying a few diiferent carts and clearos and flavors i found the sweet spot. yesterday i smoked 1 cigarette.

i really do prefer the flavor and chokeless experience of vaping over stinky butts.

One quick lesson...

My daughter wanted pink pancakes and blue milk this morning. Quirky kid, but I grabbed the McCormick Assorted Food Colors and Egg Dye and was about to mix some up when I noticed that the ingredients said "Propylene Glycol". I'm thinking "Hey"..."That's PG, right?". So now I have this crazy notion that I could drip some of this food coloring into an atty and blow out some red smoke. How KEWL would THAT be?.....

Well, let me tell you.....a 6 year old will never laugh harder than seeing her father with red food coloring around his lips and hands while trying to puff on a black magic marker. Apparently the PG in the food coloring is so small it doesn't vape and makes you look like a complete ... while getting red stuff everywhere......LOL

Have fun with your vaping experience....it's sure been a blast for the rest of us.......

Note: Coloring is OK for ingestion, but not inhalation.

Iggy...it was an "Aesop's fables" kinda story and meant as a joke. I sincerely doubt anyone else on the planet would possibly consider vaping food coloring....LOL. If they do, it's harmless, you just get strange colors in places where it was never intended.

First off, congrats on making the switch, and second, as others have mentioned, dont stress yourself if you break down and have a cigarette. It is not easy for some wo just switch over 100% right away, but it sounds as though you may have an easier time of it than you think because you really want to quit for yourself and for your child. Don't buy anymore cigarettes and vape through the cravings, save a few cigarettes for those cravings you just can't get past in the beginning. Drink lots of water to help purge out the cigarette toxins and stuff from your body as well as staying hydrated while vaping.

I think this is the best advice you could get!

Although I'm a new vaper myself, I'm finding analogs less and less attractive each day. Today is the first day since switching 3 weeks ago that I haven't had an analog at all. It's just plain hard giving up a habit that you've had for years (25 for me).

Just get yourself a kit of some sort...you'll find what works best for you with some trial and error. I first tried a disposable Krave that I bought at the local dollar store, it was a huge let down. I then bought a 901 kit from a local headshop and liked it much better. Today I got my eGo in the mail and can't wait until it finishes charging.

Anyway, get a kit of some sort and just start vaping. The best advice I think is not to put too much pressure on yourself to stop analogs. If you make a conscious effort to try and grab the e-cig every time you get a craving you will soon find yourself choosing it more and more over the analogs. At first I was about 50/50 vaping and smoking but over the past week or so I'm getting to where I can't stand the taste of cigs anymore and prefer to use the PV. It's weird how you're craving just slowly changes from one to the other. I think that if I would have just dropped the cigs and switched 100% to vaping it would have been harder to avoid the analog cravings. So I definitely suggest going for an analog when the craving is really strong. Like I said, just try and make a solid effort each time you're craving to go for the e-cig instead.

Of course everyone's different and some have had no trouble dropping analogs immediately but if that's too much for you, allow yourself one occasionally for a bit until you just no longer desire them. If you are able to completely drop your normal smoke then by all means do it! If it proves a little too much temptation just give in on occasion, pretty soon you'll probably find that you can't even finish one because they just aren't any longer what you really want.

Another thing I recommend is to keep coming to this forum. Whether you're just reading or whether you're participating, it's great support to talk to others about it. If you can find smoker friends or family members willing to try and switch with you then so much the better. It's always easier to stop an addiction when you have others around you in the same boat.

That's why I switched to vaping.

I was worried too.

Worried that smoking cigarettes was going to KILL me.

Load up a cartomizer and GO FOR IT!

The best advice I can give you is not to put pressure on yourself and don't think of it as quiting, think of it as changing your brand. I have a friend who, despite having a great set up would always go back to analogs after a few days and couldn't figure out why, I told him not to quit but to change his brand to the new, modern brand (the e-cig), just that simple change in his thinking made his conversion to vaping a success, it has now been more than 6 weeks for him now without an analog and he has no desire. Give it a try

I am still fairly new here but did as others have mentioned. I have an aunt who had given up analogs about a month before and she was telling us how great she felt, etc. Hubby and I had a long talk and decided to take the plunge. We each had analogs left but figured it was a now or never sort of thing so just went for it. Day one wasnt bad until bed time when I couldnt sleep, broke down and had an analog. The next morning we talked and agreed that I could let myself have that one at bedtime but had to do so outside. I smoked a whole one that Sunday night, a half of one monday night, and by tuesday night when I lit my last analog, I was so grossed out that I lit it, and immediately put it back out. Have almost a carton of smokes (over half a pack sitting on the top of my desk) and no longer give them more than a fleeting thought. Actually plan to drop them off with my cousin the next time we drive home for a visit.

My firsthand experience is to just jump right in. It worked for us and I have 2 little boys who have thanked me daily for giving up the stinkies. Now instead of telling me how much I stink, the hang around to see what scent mommy is currently vaping, lol. Their current favorite scent is cantaloupe :)

Lots of luck to you!!!
