Hey guys been sometime since I've posted anything just bought a house and been so busy. So now the questions :) my friend gave me the screwdriver mk1 with 901 atty for a great price, but I don't like 901 attys (sorry for everyone that does :) ) I want to use 510 attys and madvapes has a 901 to 510 adp but heard its not good to use. It makes the batt heat up and the attys die quicker. So has anyone tried this and its true or what? I just don't see how it could run hotter or burn the attys with just a little adp but I'm a newb with all that. Sorry if this has been talked about already but I tried to search on here and can not find anything about that. Oh ya the batts are 3.6 volt would it be bad to use 3.7 volt? Ok guys thanks for any info you can give. Have a great day!!! :)

I use three different 901>510 type adapters on my SD's. Two were obtained from Madvapes and one from Totally Wicked. I have a standard sized adapter (MV), a 901>ego adapter (MV), and a "tank" adapter (TW) which is essentially a longer 901>510 adapter. All three function excellently and have done so since their installation on my SD's.

The one problem that might occur is one common to any adapter. If the adapter's insulating sleeve (the part that separates the center post from the body of the adapter) is damaged or mis-aligned, the adapter can cause a short which will possibly damage the device's battery.

A properly assembled adapter, attached properly, should not cause a battery to heat up or an atty to die quicker. Since center post heights vary depending upon device, I suggest raising the center post on the adapter prior to installing on the device. Once attached, use a multi-meter to see if there is a connection. If not, then gently move the center post in the adapter down until contact is made. I hold the button down and slowly attach an atomizer until it makes contact. If it's snug or pretty close, then everything should be OK.

I have numerous adapters on numerous devices and have encountered a dud adapter now and then. Some have screw-in type adjustable center posts, others are free floating. Best to check each one with a meter prior to use since a shorted center post may not be readily observable.

I tend to order adapters in three's on the off chance that one is a dud. They are generally inexpensive and it's nice to know that I have a backup in case of damage or loss.

Hope that helps.
