I am hoping someone can point me in the right direction with this. I have an older Phidias bottom feeder I would like to bring back to life but it is a leaker. Does anyone know what type of sealant to use on a bottom feeder? It currently has this black colored stuff on the 510 and button. I see the same stuff used on Bogger mods.

Any assistance in what this is and / or another type of sealant than can be used is appreciated.

Thanks!

Here are some pics - it never was pretty on the inside when I got it. But the sealant in there is like a rubber which can be cut. It seems like it is leaking from the top right then down the inside.

I have a similar problem with my Rio Grand. I cut a piece of an old delrin insulator to size and sanded it down to fit snug around the 510, the used python glue (crazy glue that doesn't expand like gorilla glue when it dries). The delrin is sealed enough to prevent leaks, but small enough to not affect connectivity.

JBQuik. This is a 2-part epoxy. It is mixed in equal parts. It only takes a little bit. It dries FAST and is PERMANENT!

I use a beer bottle cap to mix small batches.

I use a paperclip, straightened, with a tight bend in half as a tiny "spoon" for mixing and application.

Put a pea-sized drop of each part of the JBQuik into a small mixing container.

Mix thoroughly.

Scoop mixture with "spoon" and dab into all areas of concern.

Wait 5 minutes.

Done.

*Wear gloves if you're prone to messy fingers. This product is permanent.
