I asked Smoker's Choice if they were going to want a table to set anything up, and they said no, they would mingle, but other's might ....

I will have to try and call this gal since I will have a lot of questions, and can ask things as she mentions stuff.

I don't drink either, but I can tear up some coffee. LOL

well, if there were locals that could do set up and take down, could rent a community center. But that is a lot of work to make sure everything gets cleaned up, plus no onsite drinks so if you wanted alcohol you'd probably have to hire someone.

I just checked the website also, and if folks are thinking of getting a room there, it looks like the cheapest (Double Queen) is $295 a night .....

Here's my two cents for what it's worth.

The Vaporium for the July meet found a restaurant/bar with an upstairs. Said we would get 50-100 people there for a 4-5 hours. If the average spent on drinks and food is $20 ea that's 1-2k in revenue. They gave Kim the whole 2nd floor at no charge.

That said, I bet somewhere up there a restaurant/bar has a similar setup that would love to see a 1-2k payoff for hosting an event.

The Casino is more use to a business/organization hosting an event where money is not an issue.

If I lived in the area I would gladly do some scouting. Bowling alley may be the ticket!

If this works, turn out is good, may not be a bad starting point to setting up a future meet where we can entice vendors to setup booths, a pay a fee, then charge $10 admission fee for us visiting. Could then turn out profitable for who sets it up.

I can see spending $20 on food/drinks, but $50 plus gas, now that may be infringing on my vaping budget, hehe!

I am thinking the 4k for the Casino may be too much, and who is on the hook to cover what's not collected?

This is all starting to sound like too much money. We would have to get a motel, and then spend a certain amount of money for food/drinks and of course spend money on ecig stuff so it's looking like we aren't going to be able to make it.

This is a bummer. I wish i lived closer/had a car and could do some scouting. Four thousand is a ripoff, IMO.
Jagelpuff had a great idea, just would be some legwork to do on someone's part. I am not locked down yet for a ride (hope I will be able to make it) but if phone calls need to be made or other stuff from the home, I might be able to help.
I know we can do this, guys. Be a shame not to, after all the work and anticipation that has gone into it.

Have you guys check Angel of Winds if you were looking for another Casino venue and that is only 10 minutes up the road from your original destination.

We are talking 11 miles up i-5 they really are close together. Tulalip Resort Casino to Angel of the Winds Casino - Google Maps check out the link for map from the original destination to a destination that may be way cheaper

It's a 3hr drive plus ferry ride for me. No can do.

it's 263 miles, 4 hours 46 mins, one way for me, with having to deliver my friends kids to their grandparents on the way.... I'm ok with going up as far as Mt Vernon, that's where we have to drop off the kids LOL

Just wanted to bump this thread back up again. The Tulalip Casino might or might not be the best place to hold this event. This is mainly due to the cost of renting a suitable room. As we have discussed on the thread already. We're still waiting to hear back from them to see if there is a cheaper room that we could use.


Until then, I want to see if anyone has any alternatives to a venue where this meet will be held. Ideally somewhere that would be suitable for everyone.
