wash - to clarify, Tulalip said the $4,000 is from drinks/food we would order ... and we would have 2 rooms.

"the Food and Beverage minimum will be $4,000, excluding the audio visual, service charge 20% and sales tax. Once you meet the food and beverage minimum, the room rental will be waived."

And I am guessing the 20% service charge ($800) and tax would be extra? Do folks think we would eat and drink that much? I am not a good judge of that kind of stuff, so don't know if that is good or a high amount ....

tybin - she said "2 Chinook Rooms" .... they are in their conference rooms area, not suites.

that is for a meeting room or a suite? that's nuts if it's for a banquet room. they don't charge that much at the casino's in whatcom

i'm sure if they did, bowling leagues would be finding other places for end of the year parties

Not too sure. In the email I seen, it mentioned the Chinook rooms. So, I'm not sure if it is a meeting room or suite. Since I'm not familiar with the casino at all.

The food and beverage would be $4000 for the estimated 80 people to be in attendance. That is not including the audio visual, 20% service charge, and the sales tax. Although, if the food and beverage costs are met. Then the cost of the room will be waived.

wow. well how much is one room

geeeze maybe we should just rent a hotel room for a hundrd
any bowling alley type party rooms near by?

the back of a denny's lounge???

LOL we could probably only rent one room. Although, if there are more people then anticipated. Then it's gonna get pretty uncomfortable in there LOL A bowling alley would be a good area if they had the space.

Wow Wash, that seems a bit crazy for such a short period of time. I can't remember what else is around there to suggest, but I'd be open to where ever I guess, preferably in the same area though

Totally agree with you DeviantDe. I didn't expect it to be that much. If all 80 people showed up and we paid $50 each for food and drink. Then that will cover the cost of the room (not tax and service charge). However I'm sure that people want to dine at a place other then the casino if they were going to make the trip.

Also, the exact number of people attending the meet is still unknown.

when i click on the link, i see that chinook 1 hold 130 people and is almost 1100 square feet. is that what you guys see?
If you look on their site, the Chinook Rooms look like conference rooms, or class rooms. I don't know if the rooms are connected either.

http://www.tulalipresort.com/meetings/floor-plans.aspx

They have a "Player's Suite" that has a living room, pool table, etc, for $2,500 aa night, but I don't think 80 people would fit.

tybin - the gal wrote the room fee would be waived if we met the $4,000 through food and drink ....
So I am guessing that is the fee for the rooms either way .... either just pay up front, or eat a lot and feel like you are getting the room for free. LOL
I just had the one e-mail from her, so I haven't had the chance to ask about just 1 room. I may try and call her, so I can get more questions in.

tybin - the number under "Reception" .... is that how many people will fit? I am not sure why she suggested 2 rooms then.

Another thing to ask her about. LOL

Oh ... ok .... I think "reception" means "standing room", "ovals" would mean seating with tables like in the picture, "class" would mean a set-up with longer tables and folks sitting facing front, etc.
I think an "oval" set-up in one room, with seating for 80 like it says would be enough ... folks would mill about anyway ... it doesn't need to be total "sit down" does it?
