Can the exhaled vapor affect others like secondhand smoke dose? I have a daughter and don't vape around her but just curious if it could affect another person like cigarette smoke can.
The only reason I ask is because when you inhale, there's nicotine in it. I was thinking that since I absorb the nicotine through the vapor that it could be possible for another person to do the same through second hand means. My daughter thinks it's so neat to play in the cloud but I tell her no since I don't know if it could harm her.

I feel like if it something I can avoid exposing others around me to, especially those who might be exposed to it on a semi/constant bases, then I will go out of way to do that. It is my choice to vape not theirs and while I will accept the responsibility for any harm it may do me in the short or long term I do not feel I have the right to make that decision for others around me, especially by imposition.

I'm pretty sure Todd is well respected in the vape community...

The real question is the Exposure and actual effect.
Is Todd still making Video reviews?
Still testing out mods with his favorite e-liquids?
Still doing what he has always done?

Maybe it was more of a concern than an actual problem........maybe.

I'm not expecting Strawberry's to be taken off the fruit bar simply because some have allergies. It is their responsibility to know and act in accordance.

Todd, come on, he is a likable guy, but seriously...........an expert already? Sure he has had his hands on a lot of gear, but I've had some good laughs over many of his mistakes and failed attempts. What does impresses me is he keeps trying and that matters.

Honestly I cannot see enough nicotine being Exhaled to be Inhaled by one other person near by to begin to be a threat to ones health..........even if they are doing a little mouth to mouth breathing.:lol::lol::lol:

He lives in the vape world, which is why I believe he has seen and heard of reactions others have to second hand 'vapor...'

I know someone who would sneeze when I vaped around her, so stopped vaping around her...

you never mentioned that before.
was that in Prague?

No, my last American girlfriend, Kimberly. It didn't start right away with my vaping, either, but got to where anytime I vaped around her she would sneeze. She didn't mind the vape at all, just made her sneeze, so I would only vape in the vape room in my house...

All the Prague ladies smoke with the exception of Sandra. Sandra doesn't mind the vape at all and it doesn't affect her. Pet'ulka would like to vape- she's a chain smoker, but it is bad for her asthma- even breathing it, so I don't play guess my flavor with her, like I do with Denisa, Janey and Nikola...

Dated non=smoking hubby for a yr. Married 38 yrs. He had sinus problems (I didn't) and his snoring rattled the windows. Last two yrs. I've vaped and HIS sinuses cleared up and snoring has gone way down.....mine too! :) Of course, we do not spend a whole lot of time downtown or in traffic either......around cows, pigs and chickens ....or anything that emits gases of some sort. BUT, I do have a problem going down the laundry aisle in a supermarket or through the cosmetic section of a department store! :(

Ought to add, I have no problem with hair spray, deodorant and room freshener.....grilled, fried and cooked foods in general. Dad, siblings and myself loved shellfish of any sort. Mother highly alergic. Couldn't even be in same room or vacinity of any of it cooking or would break out in hives from the vapor from boiling.

I'm vacationing with family. My brother and I are vaping for the first time during this traditional gathering. We can sit in the living room when it is empty and vape and when others walk in they have no idea that we were vaping. They see nothing and smell nothing. It's made the vacation a lot more relaxing for my brother and I. Second hand what?

The tax supported institutions that depend on discretionary government appropriations including education, local government and medical research are in a serious panic because ecigs are a serious funding threat. So we see campus bans, local government bans and loads of junk science compliments of the people who have the most to lose if tobacco sales collapse.

its rather hard to have long term peer reviewed studies
of anything when there is no base of affected
individuals to draw conclusions from.

It's also hard when there isn't a "long term", which is exactly my point.
We don't know, because we don't have long term vapers to study.

All the anecdotal evidence so far looks good, but jumping the gun without evidence is a fools game.
Which is exactly why any scientist worth a damn won't say for certain.

With "friends" like the two of you, why do we need enemies?

I am honestly at a loss as to why either of you are even here.....besides arguing the opposite point of every issue there is.
.

I can assure you it's not to get your approval, or to lie.
My integrity is worth more than this forum.
I believe second hand vapor is safer than cigarette smoke. But I cannot prove it.

Just because I believe it, doesn't make it a fact.

We need time for researchers to back up what we already believe. If we are right, we will be vindicated.
If not, at least we won't look like fanatical idiots, like ANTZ.

My mother has COPD, and is a former smoker. She doesn't give a rat's you-know if I vape in her house; it causes her no problems of any sort, either health or cravings -- if there was any nicotine in my exhaled vapor, I'm pretty sure that would trigger her cravings -- she's been quit for 10 yrs but says she still sometimes gets cravings, when under extreme stress.

She and I spent FIVE HOURS inside her closet last summer, rearranging her clothes for easier wheelchair access, me vaping all the while, her having zero problem with it.

There is nothing in exhaled vapor that is a danger to anyone, except *possibly* cats, if you fog up the room completely with high-PG vapor; but guess what, high-PG doesn't make much vapor. :D The only consideration, to me, is it bothering anyone? Sometimes my husband fans my high-PG vapor away when I exhale it right in front of the TV screen without thinking, but that's the only problem we've found. Even in the cab of our pickup-truck, no problem whatever -- high-PG doesn't make a lot of vapor. I've told my parents if my vapor bothers them, I'll take it outside as I did cigarettes, but they tell me not to bother since it's not bothering anyone.

with no short term studies pointing to long term harm to be warning
about harm at this point is FUD.

being in a room full of ciggie smoke as compared to being in a room full of vapor is like being in a room full of wasps or a room full of flies... if one stays in the room full of wasps, eventually you will get stung. Being in the room full of flies is just bothersome....

Seriously?
Do you really not understand vaping is new and hasn't be around long enough to DO any long term research.
I'd love for it to be found safe.

But anyone saying there are absolutely no dangerous long term effects are just lying because they cannot know.
