Security at the BallPark didn't like my mod...

Just in case anyone hasn't seen a copper, it looks like this:

The ones with the rounded ends instead of the hex ends don't look as obnoxious but still have a pipebomb-ish appearance.

I almost bought one at Vapefest, but I just couldn't get into the way the device works. The owner is a really cool guy though.

As awesome looking as the Copper is, I still can't figure out how it could be seen as a weapon of mass destruction. Looks so heavy-duty that a bomb planted in it wouldn't even dent it.

Went to my first Phillies game of the season tonight at Citizen's Bank Park in Philly. There is normal stadium security out front at the gates. A standard pat down procedure looking for basic weapons and open containers. I was carrying my Copper mod in my jacket pocket and since the thing is enormous the lady searching me found it and asked me to remove it. Upon removing it from my pocket I handed it to her and said, "Its just an electronic cigarette...". She immediately replied, "Oh no, you can't take this in. What is it?". Then I started a back and forth conversation with her about why I should be allowed to take it in with me and why I was a little upset she was giving me a hard time. I also happened to have a full KR808D-1 and a full eGo setup in my other pocket which I showed her in an attempt to convince her it was fine. That actually made it worse and she called her boss over. He immediately gave me the no go. I quickly grabbed each device off the table he laid them out on and took a hit from each one... "Look sir, its just an e-cig. You guys have to see these now and then and be familiar with them." Finally the guy got tired of arguing and after I popped the battery out of my mod and took it apart in front of him he reluctantly let me take my gear into the game. All my friends had to wait for me and it was really a hassle. Anybody else have issues like this with security anywhere? It kind of made me angry but at the same time I am able to understand their point of view. They're just doing their job really...

I have 15 games this season, I went to the Phillie's vs Brewers game on Monday Night, "L" Anyway used my Reo the whole game but totally know what you mean. They didn't find mine, I keep it right in my back pocket too. Anyway I was vaping in the smoking section and it was amazing how many people are still clueless to ecigs & Mods. I also was vaping in my seat but was stealth vaping, I still was getting looks but blowing the vapor straight down. It's crazy, from now on I'm only gonna take my Ego just in case. I had the same thing happen to me that happen to you last summer at a S.F. Giants game out at there new park, they didn't want to let me in and I had to argue the point that it was totally legal and they couldn't refuse me and they where NOT getting my Mod, I got in but they wanted to see my tickets and even wrote down where I was sitting and told me ecigs where not allowed to be used in any areas same as cigs. Bottom line is we really have issues still and ecigs are getting treated same as smokers in many public places these days. I would love to see an open campaign for ecigs to enlighten people and the public that it is just vapor.!!!

Tough loss but at least you caught a dollar dog night... lol. I just ordered a REO tonight and now Im afraid to take it to the park with me. I'm going to 5 more games in the next 3 weeks and Im sure many more over the rest of the season.

Cool Gitmo, we have the best dam pitching staff in the entire MLB world, I don't see the Phillie's loosing 3 in a row this year, it could happen but not to many times with the Dr.H, Mr Lee, Roy Osw, and cool hand Hammels on the Hill. !!!!!!!!!

as someone who;s seen pipe bombs. The copper mod looks like a pipe bomb, as does a provari and a roughstack and other similar lookin tube/pipe mods. Take my word for it. Take an ego or GLV or a basic 510 808 901, if you're going somewhere they'll put you through the ringer.

Haven't read the thread yet but... In times where a plastic knife will get you strip-searched, and sharing asprin will get you suspended from school... I have to admit that I'm not surprised. I had a bolt. It *could* be used as a weapon.
