I have been rebuilding my own coils for the last few weeks now and am very happy with the results. The thought of having to buy poorly made coils every week or two was just to painful, so i decided it was time to learn to rebuild my own.
So far, I have rebuilt kanger, evod, vivi nova and a handful of other generic type heads. What I've learned recently, is that once you rebuild one type of head, you can rebuild them all, as long as they can be broken down and put back to together.
I have been experimenting with coils in the 1.4 to 3.0 ohm range and have found 2.0 ohms to work the best with most juices. What what im confused about is the fact that regardless of the ohms of the coil or juice used, I am able to adjust the volts or watts to their maximum output on my mvp 2 without any wicking, burning or dry hit issues.
I did initially have some flooding issues, but after switching to boiled peaches and cream cotton yarn, the flooding stopped. I use 65/35, 50/50 and 100% percent PG juices with no issues whatsoever. I just wouldn't thought that id end up with burnt hits or would have had to dial the voltage or wattage down when using different coils and different juice blends.
Am i doing something right here? or is something wrong with my mod? I keep expecting burnt or dry hits at 5 volts or 11 watts, but it never happens, even if I take a super long and hard drag. I use 32 gauge kanthal with 4, 5, or 6 wraps and am even using some 1.5 ohm twisted kanthal coils with great flavor. Thanks for any input.
