How do you quickly explain an e-cig to people? I'm starting to think about what I'm going to sy if I'm at a non-smoking friends house and fancy a vape, it seems silly to go outside (although obviouslly if they really object) so I'm sure there must be a quick and easy way to get the

"it's smoking but it's not really smoking and you'll see smoke but it's not really smoke" message across.

What do other people say in this situation?

I don't bother to try and vape in other people's homes*.

If asked what it is and need two words I say "nicotine inhaler".

If they show interest I take the cart off point to the steel bridge and say "there's a heater" and point to the sponge in the cart and say "it heats that".

I'm not a man of many words :)

* or I hide in the loo to do it :)

I've been smoking at my desk at work, and on the bus, and in the cafe, and in a restaurant. (I have asked permission first mostly).

I agree with blackbug. Nicotine inhaler from anyone who queries tends to work best.

Mine arrived at work today and I had 5 people round my desk all going "try it inside" I am determined to keep my cig breaks! Then again they have given it 10 days before I'm back on analogues (If I weren't getting some flavours tomorrow I would agree with them, half an hour after getting the tobacco flavour carts I was in tesco buying peppermint flavour, it tastes like when you re-light an analogue)

I guess I might just spend some time explaining it to close friends and family where I spend a lot of time, and go outside with the smokers for the rest

yup primer is yucky dont give up on ecigs in just 10 days though give it a bit of time its not the same as smoking but with the right ecig and the right flavors you'll learn to prefer this over analogs.

after 24 hours and only 1 analogue (and having got through a crap load of peppermint flavouring) I am certain it's the tobacco carts, bleugh! I washed out the atty before I started, and gave it lots of puffs as I was pre-warned about the primer (the benifit of finding the forum a week before getting the e-cig)

I have had choc caramel & dr Pepper flavours arrive today, only tried the caramel so far, but what an improvement!

The tobacco carts definitely parent for everyone, I'm not too found of them myself, but if you get a chance to try flu cured tobacco go for it. It's nothing like the Marlboro flavor its really nice and its got a touch of caramel to it :)
