This happened to me twice yesterday.

I ordered some spare glass tanks and some odds and ends from Vapingbest. At checkout the total was $19.97. It showed up in my bank as a $20.13 debit.

Then I ordered some glass bottles from Myfreedomsmokes. The checkout total was $44.24 but it showed up in my bank as $46.89.

Do they recalculate shipping after the order, or are these sellers making a few extra cents off every transaction? Come to think of it, Vapingbest indicated free shipping, so it couldn't be that.

Has anyone else had this experience?

Could be something to do with taxes. Doubt I would have noticed if it had happened to me.

Did you pay with PayPal? Or debit card? Might have been a hidden processing fee based on the amount spent. Contact the vendor and ask. Never hurts to ask.

vapingbest was paypal and Myfreedomsmokes was debit card. I'm considering making contact Myfreedomsmokes. vapingbest is in China. My son speaks Mandarin, maybe I'll get him on a 3-way call. 17 cents is probably calibrated to avoid complaints, but if they make that on every transaction.....

My bank charges a small fee on some of my overseas orders. They list it as an EFT service charge.

How much is a phone call to China from the US? There are charges PP will apply during the currency exchange so it might not match your invoice.

As for MFS, they’re US based and that shouldn’t be a problem even with a debit card (assuming you’re in the US). Maybe an email would be a cost effective way of reaching out to them to clarify. I’ve never had that experience with MFS

email both i say... calling would be expecting too much information from whomever answers, unless you plan on waiting while they load your order, check everything, go ask the accountants etc. my experience with CB and FT is that they are usually amenable and try to help_ they take everything seriously

sometimes it's one of those extra packaging fee or the like... sometimes it's optional and you can unchekc a box. but the currency thing makes more sense since you haven't seen anything.

I'd talk to my bank about it first.
There are a lot of different fees that get charged.

I would guess that the Vaping best difference is the foreign transaction fee, that others have mentioned. I see that on most PP orders from China.

Just for grins, I used my MI state sales tax (6%), on your Myfreedomsmokes difference.
    44.24 x 1.06 = 46.89
Does your state sales tax happen to be 6%?

May just be they haven't got the tax programmed into their checkout process yet. Stuff changes on them all the time and they aren't likely to have a major software support dept.

Could there be a currency conversion issue with Vaping Best? Some sites will show the price in whatever currency you like, but they process the charge in either their local currency or USD regardless of the displayed currency. If your bank or CC provider is using their own exchange rate there can be a (usually) small difference in the total. Of course, in my experience they've always also displayed the actual charge and currency so you know what to expect.

As for MFS, I'd be very surprised if it were legal to process the charge without displaying an accurate total - tax included - beforehand. It may be only $2.50, but it would certainly aggravate me. If they can calculate the tax correctly for the charge they ought to be able to do it at the checkout.

I think you've got it! Yes Pennsylvania sales tax is also 6%. You'd think that they would say that they're going to do that. Maybe I missed it in the fine print. Less aggravating than outright theft, but not by much.

Yes, you'd think it would be listed in the final charges somewhere.

Theft by a familiar thief is a little less aggravating..lol
