More than usual level of negative comments. Their media blitz is working down to the level of "if you smoke you can open a window and air it our, but vapor settles everywhere on every surface of the house". I wonder if that was Slantz selling the UCSF agenda.

Every smoker, smoker's spouse, smokers kids and all cleaning people who cleaned hotel rooms before smoking bans, know this is total :censored:

Yep all Dem Liberals.

It is who they are, what they do and what they've done for decades. Only when it is their ox that is being gored, do they "find liberty", but usually only on that one issue. Some begin to see more than that, and expand into other issues, but for them to forsake their philosophy, they would have to cancel their sponsorship to PBS, NPR, Sierra Club, et al., and in some cases get divorced, change churches and friends. Some aren't willing to turn their lives upside down for that. And frankly, I can understand that, but deeply admire those that would.

BTW, it would be the same for the puritanical types from the other side who know what is best for everyone else.

It is a bit disingenuous considering that e-cigarettes are doing the job that other NRT's have done so poorly. One would think people living healthier and longer would agree with a progressive agenda that always speaks to compassion.

I really don't care to see this made into a partisan issue, but we see conservatives supporting us, and perhaps that's where we should be looking for allies.

'Speaking to compassion' and 'committing compassionate acts' are two separate things. Taking tax money from working people to give to other people isn't 'charity'. It's a mockery of 'charity' and compassion ...and actually tends to inhibit true charity.

They must all be getting big tobacco money..
Actually, I wonder if the money might be coming from companies who market other NRT's, like Pfizer?

I don't disagree. That's just the rhetoric they use. They show all sorts of concern for the downtrodden during election season, but how many of those promises materialize the day after the polls close?

Still, I'd think they'd want to seize this issue, if for nothing more than scoring political points.

I don't see where their political points would be coming from. People here that would have and likely have voted for them, are not pleased. And I don't know if there is a popular sentiment against ecigs despite the media. They may be scoring 'media points' though :)
