I work from home so I don't go out much. Well today, after the vape store i went to the grocery store. I was walking down the isle with my cart then all of a sudden, i smelled something horrible. I recognized this smell after about 5 seconds and i looked to my left and there was a guy standing there bored out of his tree while his wife/gf was contemplating pickles. He smelled of cigarette smoke. He was about 8 feet away! I said to myself, omg. he is a smoker, then i thought to myself " omg ..., i smelled like that for 26 years!!!" When i talked to my mom tonight, i apologized for being stinky for so many years

I know it doesn't take long for your basic senses to come back. I made myself a steak dinner tonight and it was like an explosion of flavor in my mouth. Each day re affirms for me that i never want to go back to analog

What are you stories regarding your senses returning and it was a " OMG" moment?

Yes, I smell them a lot farther away and they don't notice it.

I don't know about anyone else, but I also find it easier to go without nicotine without fiending for it. Also, I'm from a small town so I get to stealth vape in the movie theater now.

True.. true .. one of my OMG moments was when in a moment of (unwilling) absence of juice I (LITERALLY) had to smoke an analog.. and I feel you, it was good to feel that damn nicotine flowing through my veins... but the taste in my mouth.. I hated myself for a few minutes.. freaking disgusting! So I know what you felt... on the downside.. Car emissions are also FAR more unbearable to me as well.. but the flavor part.. specially with holidays food a couple weeks ago... ....ing awesome! (Excuse my french!)

For me, (I'm still a dual user) it was sitting in my car on a rainy day having a cigarette during a break at work.

Got in my car at the end of the day, and it stank! No more smoking in my car no matter what! LOL!

... and, yes, I'll eventually get to being a former smoker, so not to worry.

I agree that it doesn't take for a much better sense of smell and taste to come online... but I have days where I go around smelling something weird all day long. Recently, it was the smell of metal all day; a smell that to me smells like "kid sweat". Yesterday, I could have sworn I smelled a skunk. I suppose it's just another manifestation of healing for my olfactory and gustatory nerves, but it's annoying.

I don't notice it when my brother smokes in the car with me, but he downright reeks when he comes in from a smoke. Luckily it goes away fast. He has vaping equipment but never uses it. I think I'm gonna have to get that guy some higher nic juice to see if that makes it more appealing. lol. 18 isn't enough for some people.

It is sometimes good to get the senses back just noticed my smells and tastes coming back I realized though that no matter what, Diners in my area still doesn't have flavor or good food......

I craved higher nic than 18.. but the way that got me to quit was throwing away all 38 lighters I found in my car and around my house...... kept one really long one for the candles but that's it....

Yeah, sensory equipment coming back online does haf its benefits ...

bakeries, good food, fresh flowers....

There's a downside to it too...
like when riding public transport during rush hours and having to notice with a certain dismay that some folks still seem to live in dwellings without showerstalls or bathtubs ...

I don't miss my mouth tasting like ... and it always felt like my gums/teeth were leeching some kind of nasty chemical... I dunno how to explain it beyond that. Don't miss smoking in contrast to vaping one bit. Plus I can enjoy the experience of vaping warm in my home in the winter =)

My buddy also smokes cigs in his house.. went to replace his video card and found his existing card's fans were literally seized and covered in oily/furry dust + smoke contaminents. Pretty nasty ;/ Hopefully when he sees my interest grow with vaping he'll possibly consider it though he lives with other indoor smokers also.

I visited my mother last year and stayed with her. She is a heavy smoker and everything in her house is yellow. She's not a dirty person its just the nicotine/smoke staining everything. It took me a week to get the smell out of my stuff once I got home. I am so thankful my house doesn't smell like that anymore.

For me smell and taste were the biggest improvements from smoking. Pizza never tasted so good, let alone smell so good.

Just the thought of smoking a cigarette makes me queasy. :/
