"Sent" Private Messages not being saved anywhere?

My PM "sent" folder contains zero items, although I've communicated back and forth with a few people. They only show up in the respondent's reply.
I can't find a way to edit/tweak/check/uncheck something to have them saved in the separate folder. I've used other v-bulletin boards and sent PMs are automatically saved. Is there something I can do or is this a forum setting?
Not a big deal really, but I'd like the option to see what I've sent, if possible.

In your general settings, make sure you check the option "save a copy of messages in my sent folder"...
