Have a look at the 6'th graphic on their product page. The battery polarity at the switch is negative, which means the body of the mod will be negative. If you reverse the polarity, have worn battery wrappers and a battery makes contact with the inside of the mod it will hard short when you hit the button.

Remember to make sure the + pin on your atty sticks out far enough to prevent a short as well. Screw the faux hybrid adapter on to the atty, make sure the pin protrudes, then screw it into the mod body.
I got a battery orientation question. Is the negative side always the one with the spring loaded connector?
If there is a spring, yes, that's for the negative end of the battery. But as you can see in the diagram Hans posted there isn't always a spring in all devices and there rarely is in our mods.

I thought you were referring to a spring that touches the battery, but I see what you mean now. The arrow is pointing to the switch which may have a spring inside or magnets that do the work of a spring. I have one mod that has the switch between the positive end of the battery and the center post of the 510 connection. In that mod I place the battery positive end toward the switch.
What matters is that we don't allow a negative battery casing to make contact with the positive side of the circuit. Mod enclosures, if they are part of the electrical circuit are designed to be ground (negative side of the circuit). Reversing the battery in a mech mod will make the enclosure positive.
