Not sure what to use for monitoring/returning the data to the android device though, but it'd be pretty sweet to control everything with your touch screen phone wirelessly. Would open up a lot of statistical data and tons of options for user interfaces. I've been a programmer for 15 years (stopped with hardware and went software) so just getting back into the electronics side of things and loving it.

Collecting statistics and general logging would be fun. And it should be doable.

What I _really_ want though is much simpler. I want a throttle instead of the switch on the APV.
The harder pressed, the more watts.

I think most people would learn to love that. :)

Yea it can definitely be done. Hmm a throttle now that could be fun to play with :D

That's really the main issue with any APV, fitting everything you want into as small a package as possible. Something like this is a likely solution. For me it's not so much a question as to "how" but more a selection of what chips to use while keeping it within budget and fitting into the right package to stay portable and functional.

Raidy has done the "throttle" concept with a pressure sensitive resistor. It's somewhere in the abyss of the "all my mods part 1" thread.

Actually his new and anxiously awaited barometrically controlled atty has the throttle concept going too. The harder you draw, the more you get, much closer to analogue smoking. But alas, no bluetooth in those plans.

As far as a throttle, what about a 2step switch like the one found in a camera for the pre flash/focus then the snapshot? One click activates one battery and the other activates a second battery. Sort of vv in the respect that you would have 3.7 and 5v in one/two clicks? Anyways, how goes the progress?
