We have:

1 Blue Russian Cat
1 Miniature Schnauzer
1 Boxer
2 Standard Poodles (both rescues and they go to work with me every day)
1 Quaker Parrot
1 African Grey Parrot
1 Blue Fronted Amazon Parrot

The Poodles run in the house, the Schnauzer barks (x a katrillion) the birds yell at the dogs to settle down or hush. The cat watches them all through the baby gate wondering what the hell is going on and I just turn up the volume on the TV. The boxer (he's really old) just lays there and watches everything.

Whats better is having a dog that acts like a cat (kneading paws and everything), runs like a deer, and stands at attention like a rabbit. That mutt is my dear dog Carl. Aside from being a cat reincarnate, he will go ballistic if you even say cat. =D

But don't worry, I think all the cat enthusiasts were not born from vaping, but from trying to smoke catnip as a teen :p

My aunt's dog acts like a cat because he was around my 5 cats growing up (they dog sat him while we were working) LOL

OK, I have struggled on with this for too long now, and the answer has eluded me totally and now is the time to put the whole connundrum to bed.......

Why is there an extraordinary number of cat photos on peoples profile pics?

The reason I need to ask is because I am a dog person, not a cat person and I am wondering how long you need to vape before the urge to buy a Cat becomes unstoppable......

Just a thought, cos when a dog is happy is gives a great big sloppy smile and licks your face.... when a car is happy it digs it claws in and causes pain... May just be me, but I am concerned about the potential for filling my house with cats.....

Yes Leonardo....this is an unnatural phenomenon, but you should be VERY careful what you say on a public forum......THEY are listening......and they will probably come for you now. Maybe if you post an apology the cats will leave you alone. If that doesn't work...and you ever get to the States...I know a good therapist.....
LMAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I.ve had dogs before...Scotties, Poodles, and my favorite, a Border Collie.

I've also had horses, goats, cattle, chickens, rabbits, doves, and ducks.

However, I have had many, many more cats.

Dogs are so needy and could never pull this off with such panache.

Although I am mainly a dog person (I have 3) I'll have to admit that our household has been recently infiltrated by a feline. She was doing the dumped and starving scheme in a remote park. Although I've never thought about the vaping and owned by a cat connection, you've given me something to think about. Especially in light of the cat's fascination with the printer/fax and computer.

Great thread! Despite my avatar, if anybody asked, I'd say I'm more of a dog person than a cat person, having shared my life with far more dogs than cats. We just happen to have an "only cat" at the moment, though it won't be long before we're sharing our home with a dog or two (with the cat's permission, of course. Luckily he prefers dogs to cats.)

I could see cat lovers who smoke(d) indoors being concerned about their fur babies not only inhaling toxins, but also ingesting them while grooming themselves, so perhaps cat lovers might be slightly more likely to turn to a smokeless gadget to get their nicotine fix. Who knows?

My two little hounds.... My ex-wife took them when we split up......

I really miss my Dogs :D

That's sad! I have three chi's (chihuahua's) love them to death most of the time. Two boys and a girl wait or is that my kids? No No that's right I have two boys and a girl human and dog. My kids want to get a cat but the dog's would go nuts and they were here first. I think I'm safe from the vape=cat thing. LOL

I live in the country so have outdoor cats but an indoor dog. They are great mousers, but my little female cat shows her love by dropping a bird on the welcome mat as a gift, pretty often I might add.

It is strange to walk outside and see feathers all over the porch and look down and see a perfectly preserved dead bird missing not one feather at your feet.

that sounds like the cat is saying "1 for you and 1 for me"

I feed some not-quite-feral kitties every morning. A couple of us trapped them as kittens to get them fixed, and homes were found for those that could be rehabbed. it took forever to catch the daddy cat....he and two others are still around. They don't want to be pets, but they enjoy breakfast.
