As a lifelong admirer of good mechanical design (Leica M's, VW Beetles, FW190, BMW boxer pushrod twins...) I never cease to be amazed by the incredible evolution of RBAs. When you think something is the epitome, a new one comes out to claim the title.

Sometimes I find it's easier to settle for a lesser vape because I get so tired of fiddling with all my stuff. Sometimes an njoy King is just what I need to restore my sanity . . . open, pull out of pack, and vape. Awesome :D

Adapting from the dive crowd the phrase "a bad dive is better than no dive", I'd say a bad vape is better than a cigarette. :)

Truth! I'm fast approaching one year analog free, and even my worst vape days won't make me go back (said while retrieving recalcitrant vape gear from trash )

I'm definitely there. I can't even use my ego and clearos for "on the go" anymore. I have to lug around my kayfun+mech or kayfun+mvp everywhere. I just can't get no (satisfaction) from anything less now. I have a dripper, and I don't even like it. The kayfun is the end-all for me and I don't think I'll ever want more. Just maybe ten different kayfuns and a solid device.

I know, I know. KAYFUN THIS, KAYFUN THAT. KAYFUN KAFUN KAYFUN!

But really. :vapor:

That's exactly what I'm talking about. I've got several egos a mvp2, couple mechs, and a multitude of tanks and rdas. None of them perform like my taifun clone. It makes it really hard to be satisfied with my other gear. What sucks is, at home, I've only vaped one flavor the past couple days because I only have one taifun clone. When I wanted a vape that's just the one I grabbed. If I want to do multiple flavors then it's looking like I'll be buying more of them. I like my drippers, but not having to drip for the same performance is really nice.
The only thing keeping me from using it away from home is the size. Out and about is the only time my other gear sees use.

You might find this lonesome post useful. Up to now my only drippers are K.funs.

It doesn't seem to ever end. I keep thinking "this is it, I've found it now". And on and on it goes. Fun though :).

Finding a new great tank is fun. It's not really fun feeling the need to replace every tank I have with that new great tank. It's also not really fun looking at all my old gear and thinking "blah", when really it all performs fine.

Good to hear!

Where did you get the hypertank? Did you buy it a long time ago?
Nah, I got it as my CASAA sign-up freebie. Great choice, too, I have to say. It's a G50, a Hypertank copy, but it seems to be good quality.

At first I had some flooding issues with it about 5 or 6 hits after filling it, like many others have, but I tinkered with the lineup of the atomizer assembly when I reattached the base to the rest of the tank, and I seem to have got it just right. It's all in the pressure with which the atomizer's upper silicon "pad" presses against the base of the center post (airflow tunnel) when assembling the tank. Not too hard, not too light. Now that it's just the right amount of snug, I can't even make it flood.

I'm really wanting a Kayfun for the eVic-S, though. I'm very curious about it, since so many people here swear by them. I'll get a good clone at first, to minimize the financial risk - in case I don't like it for some insane reason. But I doubt that'll happen. Not to mention the Kayfun is such a handsome tank. It really makes a mod look great sitting on its upper deck. Especially the "trim" looking ones like Vamos and eVics, in my opinion.

I really liked the FW190, too. The Würger was such a great design. Great power, climb rate, handling, loadout... More expensive than the Messerschmitt Bf109 to produce, but not prohibitively so. From what I've seen from historical records, it was the most formidable of the commonly used German fighters of the war.

(Sorry for my OT'ness. :p )

Here are three of mine. The one on the left is in dripper mode, the center one decked in PMMA parts and the one on the right, the better one from FT.

You cannot go wrong with them. OTOH, I'm enthralled by my Fogger v4; a superb evolution of the original Kf design!

Where do you draw the line?

that would be a different answer for everyone.

There are people on this forum who have been using the same set-up, and same juice, since they first started vaping. Yes, honest. And they are happy.

There are other people who have owned 50 devices in 3 months, etc.

I was more picky early on than i am now, realizing it really comes down to delivery device and juice you like. The rest of it is just "features"

Very nice collection! The one on the right, it's this one isn't it? The SvoёMesto v3.1. I can't believe the price. $21.54? For a clone of a Kayfun that runs about $100 originally? I know I'd need to also get a coil for it, or rather, I'd build a coil for it. Great chance to get into building, I would think.

If that's one of the better quality KF clones then I'll be getting one sooner than I thought I could! :)

Thanks CK, actually it's this one... Not sure of the differences. Maybe Sufie at FT can give an answer.

* * * * * update * * * * *

The latter comes with PC & SS tank sections, the former just PC.

PS, yes! The price is incredible. I paid ~$32 for mine and also, yes, the finish is unbelievable!. Smooth threads, perfect match of sections, beautiful and expensive looking brush finish, engraved logo, etc...

Outstanding, thanks a lot!

I may want to get a 510 drip tip adapter so I can get a plastic or acrylic tip for it. I'm just having trouble getting into metal tips. The cold sensation is just unpleasing for me. I keep hoping they'll grow on me, but I don't know if they will or not.

But the original KF-style tip looks so integral to the rest of the unit. Would it change the nature of how it works if I changed the mouthpiece?

I'm about 2 days away from being able to order a second and third Kayfun clone. My protanks, aerotank, and nautilus have been unloved and alone for weeks. I know exactly what you mean.

My plan is to just never try another topper. :D

I'm with you. Now that I have a kayfun, I have found my perfect vape, and have no desire for any new newfangled thing, just more kayfuns. :D

However having learned to build nice coils and wick them with nice organic cotton, my T3S tanks, Mini PT II, and Hypertank2 have all improved tremendously, in fact I can actually stand to vape them while I'm working on the Kayfun. :D And I have a nice Smok UDCT for real emergencies, and plenty of cartos for it. It's not perfect but it *works* and will keep me at least from climbing the walls.

But all I really want is 3 or 4 more Kayfuns. :D Clone, Russian, German, I don't really care; the Tobeco KFL+ I have is terrific.

I like delrin better too. And no, it doesn't really change its performance. Actually all my clones came with the 510 drip adapter ring, the one from FT with a good o-ring, the others from another vendor (much cheaper at $16.ȼȼ in 3x purchase) didn't have that o-ring; had to get them from a hardware store across the street from my biz. They also leaked so I tweaked them; two RDAs, one PMMA. I also plugged the fill hole from the inside with a high tech solution: a center piece from a wooden toothpick!

BTW, I've got two shortie vulcanite pipe stems with 510 adapters that are superb on the RBAs. Forget plasticky taste, chipped teeth, etc. And they taste great to boot. You can even dig your teeth in them as if you were smoking a pipe. They come (not really cheap) from Walker Briar Works.

Daves-E-Cig_1.jpg

Mine are like these... Just in vulcanite (natural hardened rubber).

Andria, check the pre-order sale at Kidney Puncher for the genuine Russian 91% V2. I ordered a black one but there are also polished and sandblasted. The three of them are beautiful, improved and about 30% less than they were a month ago.

* * * * * edit * * * * *

Actually, if I weren't so overdrawn on my vape budget I'd order the three of them and swap center sections for visual effect! :D (Yeah, and the home auditor would extract a new watch, necklace or bracelet!) ;)

Where do you draw the line? It's one thing to go from cartos to clearos and then to glassos. But after that. ......

My line was drawn for me by missus: she declared herself fed up with all my junk (clearos, bottles and stuff lying around), and so I've had to "simplify" my vaping, so to speak. Little did she know, she actually did me a favor :)

I've decided to go dripping-only: a single device can vape several flavors a day without too much trouble, it tastes good, it can be rebuilt so it's very very cheap to use. I now mainly use:

- A tube mod with a RDA to drip at home
- A bottom feeder with a RDA for when I'm out, to either drip when I can, or squonk when I can't (in the car for instance).

Occasionally, I use a very small battery-and-clearo setup, to stealth-vape at work or onboard airplanes, but not very often.

I must say, dripping is a bit of a pain, but it turns out to become something of an habit: it doesn't bother me so much anymore. It's just something my hands do subconsciously now. The big upside is not having to refill, clean and generally mess about with clearos. And the flavor is whatever you make it to be, not what the clearo deigns delivering.

That sounds terrific except it sounds like they have everything but the brushed stainless finish -- the only one I'd want. I had to really hunt around to find a good price on this Tobeco in brushed finished! Neither the polished nor the "matte" "satin" would look good with my brushed stainless Sigelei.

Sounds like a reverse budget situation, too; when I'm ordering all this crap, I feel guilty if my husband can't also order some coins for his collection -- he was deprived of his hobby for years when the economy went into the toilet, but he kept buying me cigarettes. Now we don't have that godawful expense, it only seems to fair to not hog *all* the money from it, for myself! :D At least the stuff he buys is actually legal tender, even if it does get stuck in a book instead of the bank acct -- in hard times, even that kind of money is spendable -- unlike jewelry. ;)

Any ideas for a good coil build to *decrease* throat hit? I finally got a "real" RDA, a Smoktech Caterpillar, and it's a breeze to build coils for, but it seems that every hit I take, the throat hit is so intense it brings on an asthma attack. I'm not a cloud chaser at all, I prefer my coils about 2 Ω, but it would be nice if I could use this thing for the reason I bought it -- easier tasting -- without having a 10 minute coughing fit and running for the inhaler.
