Hi. I've been vaping since around May/summer. I'm still pretty new. Yesterday I had a heart attack, I thought I lost this vamo and I was so mad. I'm thinking buying a backup or switch this vamo as my backup. Any suggestion?
I'm thinking about k100, but it looks awfully complicated and I'm not that knowledgable in order to know what do I really need.... Help me guys!

Well the vamo is a great mod. I use one all the time. I also have a k100 that I rarely use. Mainly because I like the ability to adjust voltage and the k100 does not do that. As for complicated; the k100 is furthest from that. It's a mechanical mod and as far as mods go mechanicals are the simplist. No electronics.

Its a great mechanical at a super great price. But i find that I prefer VV/VW mods as I can easily tailor the voltage to match whatever atomizers I'm using at the moment and/or juice.

If you want to try something different then the K100 might be cool for you but keep in mind that because it has no safety electronics it cannot protect the mod from any battery mishaps and you can easily drain the battery to nothing; in a mechanical this is a big no no. Your Vamo senses when the battery gets drained to a certain point and stops the vamo from being used (Lo Voltage) which keeps the battery from reaching the drained state. That k100 doesn't do that (unless you install a kick).

Another thing to keep in mind is this: With a mechanical as you vape away the battery is used. The mech mod doesn't have anyway to regulate the voltage so as you drain the battery the voltage decreases and where you started at maybe 4.2v or 3.7v the mod is now producing les and less providing a less perfect vape. The Vamo on the otherhand keeps the voltage constant at whatever you select; lets say 4.2v and even on the very last vape before the unit shuts down you still get that last vape at 4.2v.

Something to keep in mind anyway...

Honestly...if I were you I'd just buy another vamo or some other vv/vw style mod.

Well...if you want something inexpensive and mech that uses the same batteries as your vamo...maybe this realm?

Or if you do not have extra batteries for it - maybe some VV egos?

What budget are you looking to remain within for an upgrade?

What would you suggest on a vw mod? I like the advantage that I can change voltage anytime I want to

It has the ability to upgrade the firmware. Plus You can track Your vaping habits if You care to do so. What I like better about the eVic is the display screen, which You can configure to display various info. such as puff counter, estimated puffs remaining, battery charge left in percentage, current volts & watts (wether your operating in vv or vw) it has a clock and calendar. And a handful of other whistle and bell type features. Like entering Your name into the device which can be displayed thru scrolling thru the menu.

Zmax, SID, SVD and Tesla are all good regulated mods at decent price points.

They also take the same batteries as your Vamo. Myself, I ordered another Vamo but now the damned thing is stuck in a loop at the USPS.

I also have about eleventy Ego style batteries in 650, 900 and 1100mAh configurations. Those are great for out and about when paired with an Evod, MT3S, Aro or even a throwaway CE4, and you can get'em cheap.

BTW, Tik... weren't you the fella/gal who was asking about an upgrade a week or so ago, and it sounded like the batteries you were using in the Vamo weren't suited for use in it?

Not calling you out. I'm just wondering if that was you and were able to find the right batteries and whether they improved the performance of your device.

I can't get enough of my Vamo with the CGR/CH hybrid 18650 in there. Performance, performance, performance!

Do those batteries really make a difference? I use AW IMR batteries and have had no issues at all but I keep looking at the Panasonics and wonder if I should give them a shot.
