So I fitted a new coil to my Endura T18 (battery) & Prism T18E (tank) yesterday, I’ve only had this setup for about a month so I’m still learning how much I really need to prep these coils (maybe that was where I went wrong?) but I prepped them how I thought was correct and started vaping. I woke up today and it was the kind of painful, dry and rough sore throat you have when you get a cold X10. Has anyone else experienced something similar to this from general vaping? Whether it be from a new coil or liquid related etc?

mention that the taste of the liquid was fine so I knew the new coils wasn’t burning.

Was it the exact same type of coil that you were using previously or something different?
This was my first thought also. The wire in coils can be different kinds of wire (kanthal, stainless steel, nickle, titanium, etc). Some coils require to be fired in a specific mode; for instance nickle requires TC mode. I also wonder if you had your mod set to TC (temp control) instead of wattage mode?

I had a similar experience a few years back.

Then I realized I had a flu. Also the dust conditions at my work were ehh... not so good. Irritations aplenty.

My advice? Keep a bottle of menthol/mint liquid on hand, lower mg than what you normally use. 3-6mg tops. Vape it at lower wattage until you find the point where it goes down smooth. Probably 8-15 watts. Might have to change coil setup to get that to work right.

Although now that you mention it there was this one liquid I bought once, TH was insane. A little spicy too. But the TH was like getting kicked in the throat, not exaggerating. That definitely irritated my throat. Go figure. So if you've gotten any new flavors lately that sound like that, might be your culprit.

... take an asprin ... call me in the morning

Never had that happen because of vaping. Not to that degree. I did have an Innokin T18 (and T22) for a few months. 14Watts on that 1.5ohm top coil is rather warmish and depending on daily usage amount, I can see it MAYBE being a throat irritant from heat. If you have a chance, give that Prism tank a try on a regulated mod and start about 12Watts and adjust as necessary from there. My point is, that tank will still vape just fine at less wattage (wattage not adjustable on the Endura) and be a cooler vape while at it. Maybe less of a possible irritant too.

Tis the cold and flu season. Sometimes when we make a life change and we get a cold, we blame the life change. For example, I'm convinced that cutting carbs is what caused the IRS to audit me. Therefore, I'm ordering pizza for dinner.

Well, there's one more reason not to cut carbs. Can't wait to tell my Doctor about this.

Back to the OP. Did you possibly stay up late chain vaping? I ask this based on my own experience.

Also consider possible dehydration. I'm bad about not drinking enough water, can go all day with just sodas, coffee, tea and the like.

Having a similar experience right now and thinking for me it's dehydration. Went back to my standard coils, cut my nic level from 12mg to 6mg and still had issues. This was with DIY unflavored juice, I haven't vape flavored stuff in several years.

Anyways, had similar symptoms you describe. For two days forced myself to drink water and it cleared up quickly. Today, after a few days of little water again and it's back.

Just my personal experience. Colds, etc also possible.

Good luck
