I started on this journey just over 2 years ago. I started like so many here with a simple set up. Just a little 2 180 auto stick batteries, an atomizer and cartridges to attach to them. My juice was 24mg. After about a month I decided that this will work for me so invested in better equipment.

After about 2 months I found that 24 was just too much so went down to 18. Fast forward a few months. I now have bunches of sample bottles of juice that I just couldn't stand. I had found a couple that I kinda liked but for some reason it was always different each time I would re-order.

I finally decided that the best thing for me to do is mix my own. Ordered a gallon each of pg and vg. Bought 500mls of 36mg unflavored nic juice and assorted flavorings. I figured I could do about as good a job of consistence as the juice suppliers I had bought from.

I hadn't planned on going down on the nic strength but my body told me that it was the right thing to do. At about 6 months I started mixing my juice at 15/16mg. Stayed there for about 6 months and again my body told me it was too strong. Cut my mix down to 12mg. About a month ago all of my favorites started tasting too strong and would burn my throat. It was my body telling me it was time to drop the strength again. I am now happy with 6mg. I also keep one of my juice delivery devices filled with 0 nic. It is just 50pg/50vg with just enough distilled water to make it wick properly. I get amazing clouds of vaper from this mix and it satisfies me.

All of this just to prove the story the ANTZ are spreading around that once we start vaping nic juice we will have to keep increasing the nic strength. They spread a LOT of misinformation and some downright LIES. We have to prove them wrong. JMHO

I would love to hear about your journey from smoking to vaping. :)

I've only been doing this for about 3 months but I find the same things as you have. I started at 18mg and now the throat hit is a bit harsh and I'm starting to get my liquid at 12mg to try out. I'll keep some 18mg around just in case. I also have noticed that I don't hardly have as much need for nicotine as when I smoked. I went without it for 3 days in the hospital after some surgery and I didn't have a problem. I go without for hours at a time every day and I hardly think about it. It's a sure sign that there is a lot more to cigarette smoke than just the nicotine.

The World is Flat and you can't fix stupid :(

I was at this one plant working and there was a lot of Vapers there. So anyways this women started her own Anti-Vape campaign.
With in weeks she not only had it banned indoors but Vapers were forced to go to the designated smoking areas to Vape.

A friend of mine went to her with facts on Vaping to see if he could win her over. He Failed.

When he asked her what her problem was with Vaping she said "I Don't Like The Way It Looks" :(
Now maybe someone was blowing them big Vape clouds in the air or something like that but that answer she gave just is :censored: stupid.

The Sad fact is when some people find something they like to do and it makes them happy, well then there will always be other people, sad no life people, that will be there to try to put a end to their happiness.

Oh and the nicotine part of my story lol

I started out with 24mg and found I was always dehydrated. Really not sure if that was causing it but, I dropped down to 18mg and it stopped.
Black Friday I ordered a ton of Juice an I got all at 12mg. And seeing with all the juice I got I am going to be on 12mg for some time. lol

And I like the side effects of feelings of relaxation, sharpness, calmness, and alertness :)

Congratulations on your 3 months. !!!!!

I am convinced that it wasn't necessarily the nicotine that kept me hooked on cigarettes for 45 years. I don't think it is the big bad wolf that the powers that be had us believing.

If you find that the 12 is to much before it is all gone you could always get some lower/no nic in the same flavor an mix it.

Agree 100% with all of the above.

In April (of this year) I also started at 24mg., shortly went to 18 (both "store-bought" premix), then went to DIY at 16 (48 base mixed down 2:1). Just bought some 60 mg. base and plan to mix down to 4:1 (12mg.) and see how that goes. I've a feeling it'll go just fine because now I too go hours without feeling "the urge", and can even stand toe-to-toe with a group of smokers, say at a party or such, and not tear my pocket off getting out my PV... and smoke wafting in my face?... no problem!

I bummed one M'bro Red last weekend, just for kicks, and it seemed like I could taste all 4000 chemicals in it!! It wasn't necessarily "bad", just not NEARLY as good as I used to think!

What is even sadder, is that some members of ECF who supposedly vape, yet believe the same thing as this woman does.

There really is no relevance to whether you vape 36mg, 24mg, 18mg, 12mg, etc. Nicotine is not the problem in smoking and thus is not the problem in vaping. And regardless of what nic strength eliquid one uses, it definitely is not harmful to others.

You are absolutely right. My concern was the news articles (gag) that say if one vapes nic juice we will build up a tolerance to it and will have to keep upping it when in fact, for many, the exact opposite is true.

Sadly for those it seems they have been brainwashed to believe all the things the antz have thrown out there. Some young ones have had those things drilled into their heads since grade school. We definitely have an uphill battle trying to fight all the misinformation that seems to be so prevalent.
