Hi guys, first of all I'm pretty much a newb at vaping, but I've read as much as I could so far. I have a TFV4 tank (+Xcube2) and went through the triple & quad coils at around 95W which was superb.
I went on to the single coil RBA and tried my best building coils which look crappy honestly. But my first successful build using Kanthal 28, around 6 wraps, 3mm diameter, resulted in a really high resistance at 1.5+ ohms. The max I could vape on this was 30W (before tasting burnt stuff), and I realised that I could no longer taste the flavor of my juice compared to when I was at 90+W on the triple and quad coils.
Is the solution to this going lower resistance and subsequently higher wattage? I'm trying to hit 0.5ohms but it seems that with 28 kanthal it's pretty impossible. I used the online coil calculator and I probably need 2 wraps to achieve that, which seems ridiculous. Should I get other gauges of wires? Maybe 24? From what I've read, they seem really thick and hard to handle.
Looking forward to any advice! Thanks and have a great weekend!
