I drove about 150 miles to go trap this gentle giant this morning. Got him and took him back 150 miles (stink) to a local vet and rescue that will help him heal and find appropriate placement for himView attachment 929311

Told ya I’ve been keeping busy! I tend to keep my pot holders until they are hideous and tatty. So now I have some pretty new ones. Those other things are ‘mug rugs’ basically a coaster, but bigger.

And those doggy bags - I showed to my daughter and she called them butthole bags lol - are poop bag holders. So dang handy, I just hook one to Georgia’s harness and we are always equipped to clean up.

I made one for my brother’s and nephew’s new pups.

Nephew got the prettiest little pit bull, and when it wasn’t horribly cold they brought her over. Georgia fell in love. She pouted all night after they left.

She’s met my brother’s dog too, a little GSD boy. She is not a fan lol. He’s a bit too much of a dork for her tastes.

I’ve been considering getting a companion for her but haven’t found any yet. She misses Rudy and I would love to have another Papillon but they’re rare as hens teeth. Another Frenchie would be fun too.

    You are a true saint @chanelvaps .
thanks Bob. It was the "he can't be caught" that got me motivated. Most of the time when people try to trap they just do not put much thought into and expect that the cat will just wander into a trap. I felt challenged to do it. In the end the poor guy walked right into my carrier after I placed some bowls of mackeral in it towards the back. He walked in and the door cloased behind him. Turns out he is a big lovebug but was probably in so much pain for who knows how long. Rossville is a dreadful place of poverty and drugs

I love them. Especially the creative way you've turned a boring doggypoo bag holder, into something gorgeous

Can you tell she’s not a fan?

It took me two tries to shovel from the porch to the gate. No more today. I’ll have to dig through two 3’ drifts to get to the trash - the cans are around the side, in the patio. It’s just going to have to sit there till next trash day, lol.

You brought Grumpy home? So happy you are caring for him
Yep he was looking so cold waiting for me at the entrance to my work like he does the wind chill was brutal and it was snowing. I lured into one of my kennels with a banana and he didn’t even put up a fight.

sadly there is nothing a vet can do for him his jaw is actually broken in 3 places it’s not as simple as a abscess she could drain and send him home with antibiotics. The only thing that may work she says is removing his lower jaw. It’s so inspiring because he’s been in such pain for so long yet doesn’t show it and would get so excited to see me everytime I’d walk out my work.
These animals are just survivors who just keep pushing on doing what they need to do to survive when most others would have given up long ago.
He’s got some pain meds and he is happy to be with me no longer being attacked by others or chased off from his food. He is very grateful for me and I’m grateful for meeting him.

He’s doing good I’ve been thinking about just biting the bullet and paying for him to get checked out because I can tell he’s in pain and the other rabbits try to take his stuff so I have to guard him closely while he eats his soft banana and kibble. He couldn’t bite into a bunny treat the other day so he has dental issues. He’s a tough boy and is sticking up for himself more often though. Just sad to see him alone all the time. All the humans know him though and love him.
I got a video of him from a couple days ago I’ll get off my other phone after my work out.
Tonight I was checking Stevie’s family out for long nails. They keep them short though filed down on the wood ramp and whatnot I guess.

Yes! Usually right where she can be tripped over. I told Himself I fear she’s plotting my demise
Doodlebug (the very large lapdog o_O) does a tuck and roll onto your lap, then edges over til he can get mostly on you. Himself had the recliner back , so that helped

American I would guess. He’s a rescue that was supposed to be a 2 yo 42 lb rottie/pomeranian mix. Turned out to be purebred puppy who hadn’t shed his puppy coat lol. He was a pediatric neuter, so he’s leggy. And he’s just now about a year, so he’s still filling out. I’d love to know where he came from, and how he ended up on the streets so young. He’s just the sweetest baby.

He is very, very lucky to have met you, Ricky.

Did the vet say whether he's dealing with any infection? Could she tell if his jaw is healing? Are you planning to keep him segregated, or will you eventually have him neutered so he can mingle with the other bunnies (if they let him)?

I don't see how he could have a very good life if his lower jaw were removed. I mean, you'd have to squirt food down his throat, wouldn't you? Sounds miserable. At least he can eat now even with his shattered jaw (animals are astonishing).

You saved his life, Ricky. Probably going to ascend to bunny sainthood, if you haven't already.
